Okay, so since I decided and bought my ticket to go to The Hub 2 convention I've been debating on whether or not to go and see Oliver while I'm over there. I had watched the whole I'd do anything competition and really wanted to go and see it, but I never thought I'd have a chance to get over there while it was going on. I'll most likely only be in ( Read more... )

Come see it with xenutia1 and I when we go on the 17th....we're spending the whole day in London, sightseeing, and then going to the show.

Well, if I do that, would you mind if I go sightseeing along with you guys as well? I really want to see more of London and I don't really fancy going all by myself. Are you gonna be staying in a hotel or somewhere else? I know I'll have to try and find someplace that isn't too expensive.

Also, which flight are you taking out of Syracuse? I could try and get the same flight then we won't have to try and figure out the transportation stuff to Northampton all by ourselves. I know trains can be a bit confusing over there, and I've no idea what the buses are like.

Excuse my jumping.

Are you flying into Heathrow? If so, take the bus/train route recommended on the site. It's pretty simple and I'd NEVER taken public transport before my last trip. You just hop the bus at Heathrow and take it to Watford Station where you hop a train to Northampton. The train station in Northampton is really close to the hotels so it's very convenient.

Yeah, I'm planning on flying into Heathrow. I just didn't know how straight forward the routes for the trains a whatnot where like...I know what the trains are like in Scotland, after having to use them many times over the summer while I was there and some of the trips got a bit confusing with the changes. I was just glad I was with a big group of people while doing that, even if I did have to watch that the kids we had with us were listening to when we told them to get off the trains, lol!

It's all pretty straight forward. There's a direct line between Watford Junction and Northampton and the bus at Heathrow will take you right to Watford Junction. All in all, it takes about two hours and it's pretty minor stress.

Good to know that it's fairly simple to get from London to Northampton.

I am staying with Xen in East Sussex after convention....let me ask her about you staying too. We'd be there on Monday, and taking the train to London early on Tues (sightseeing, Oliver, etc) and taking the train home that night.

I am planning on flying out of Syracuse on the Wednesday before convention, because the rates are cheaper midweek. Probably the overnight flight (again, cheaper) which would put us in about 7am on Thursday.

The sightseeing we plan on doing while in London is one of the guided bus tours.......we found one where you can hop on and off their tour busses at any stops, all their lines take you all over London...and it even includes a boat ride on the Thames. Xen has a lot of problems walking, so we thought this was brilliant.

Oh, that'd be cool. It's no big deal if it wouldn't work out though. I'm sure I'd be able to find somewhere to stay and just meet up with you guys somewhere.

I've been looking at flights leaving wednesday night. Have you bought your tickets yet?? Most that I've seen are either in at 6:30 or 7am. When do you plan on leaving?

I've done those hop on, hop off tours before while I was in Glasgow. They're a really good way to see lots of the city and go to specific places that you want to see while on it. Also good opportunities for taking pictures too.

Don't know if you saw the other comments on here, but it looks like there'll be a few more people that'll be at the hub that're going to see Oliver as well, so we'll all have to meet up at the stage door to wait for Burn when we go see it.

Yes it is. I can't wait!

I'm probably not going to be able to buy my plane tickets until next month or the month after. Been spending a bit much lately on things. It'll give me more time to figure out what day/time I want to leave.
