Return of the (Jedi) Master

I haven't been able to swim at Master's swim since I hurt my ankle 3 months ago...well, I haven't felt brave enough to. I don't know what I was nervous of, I just didn't want to feel overwhelmed.

I know this happens to people all the time, but I literally witnessed a miracle in the pool. When I left Masters 3 months ago, there was a couple that always chatted with me and called me Dread Pirate Lilia (my swim cap explains the nickname). When I came back, I recognized that a man there looked familiar, but he was about half the size of the person I remembered. My swim friend Mike had literally lost 45 pounds in the 3 months since I had last seen him. That's like an entire person! An entire person's worth of fat. Or something

The change is awesome. I am floored. The 20/20 program really works miracles. End thought.

I ended up having a great workout, but it was definitely brutal. Here's the breakdown:

warmup
100 each - Swim, Kick, Pull, Kick, Swim
all kick all the time (emphasis on form)
8 x 50's : kick down, swim back, increase speed of swim over the 8
endurance / cardio set
10 x 75's (750): kick/swim/kick (odd), swim/kick/swim (even): 1:15 send off
hypoxic training set
3 x 200's (600): 50pull, 100 pull with only 4 breaths/length, 50pull

2250 total (+ 100 warm up that I did beforehand = 2350! woohoo)

All that kicking was a lot of work on my ankle, but I need to start working it more and not being afraid. Physical therapy had me JUMPING on my ankle, so I've clearly been too cautious on it.
