Titel: You Don't Miss Your Water
Characters: Nichkhun, Wooyoung
Genre: Romance, Angst
PG: PG, i guess
Warning: Probably very depressive, but with a good ending; maybe I
should add that I wrote this in 20 minutes? So it's definitely a bit messy o.O
Summery: Nichkhun is ignorant and Wooyoung can't take it anymore AU ... wow, bad summary o.O Please read anyway :)
I do not own Nichkhun or Wooyoung nor one of the
other persons. They belong just to themselves ^^
Wooyoung was alone again, crying himself to sleep. Nichkhun was out on a business thing or with Victoria. It was always the same anyway, so he didn’t even care anymore. Probably one day, Nichkhun would just take her home with him, forgetting that Wooyoung even waited there.
He didn’t even know what hurt more. That Nichkhun was probably cheating on him or that he didn’t even care to hide it.
He just knew that every second of his life was like a burning blade, slowly entering his heart. And his boyfriend didn’t even notice.
---
Sometimes it would be too much, sometimes he would snap. It didn’t make much of a difference, though, because Nichkhun plainly didn’t care. Wooyoung once yelled at him that he hated him, but Khun just said, that he should stop with the joking and go back to work.
Situations like that happened more often and often and one day Wooyoung just packed his things and moved out. It took Nichkhun three days to find him at Taecyeon’s house. Taec was Wooyoung’s best friend and Khun was supposed to know that. He was supposed to know where to look for Wooyoung.
He didn’t.
---
“What do you expect from me, Nichkhun?” Wooyoung stood up from the table and walked towards the door.
Nichkhun followed him, anger visible in all of his steps. “I expect you to tell me that this is some stupid joke. You can’t just leave me.” He snapped.
Wooyoung stared at him with wide unbelieving eyes. “Are you even listening to yourself? Nichkhun you completely ignored me these past two years and now you tell me I can’t leave you? Well, watch me!”
Nichkhun panicked when he slowly started to believe his boyfriend’s words. “Wooyoung, no you can’t just leave. We need to talk about this.” He tried to take Wooyoung’s hand, but the younger backed off.
“Yes, now you want to talk.” He pushed against his chest, causing Khun to stumble a bit. “What about the time, I had problems at the company and needed to ask you for advice? Did you talk to me then?” Another push “Or what about the time my friends needed help and you kept me at work? Did you talk to me then?” And another push. “What about the time my father died and I needed you by my side, Khun? Did you talk to me then?” His shoulders slumped and his anger slowly vanished, leaving a feeling of emptiness. “No, Nichkhun, you were always too busy with your work, or worse with Victoria. I’m sorry, I just don’t have the strength to talk anymore.”
Wooyoung again tried to leave, but this time Nichkhun firmly gripped his wrist. “Wooyoung, please, just don’t. Don’t leave, please just do that for me.”
“For you? Nichkhun don’t you understand?” Wooyoung exhaled exhausted. “I did everything for you. I moved with you to Seoul, abandoning my dreams of becoming a dancer to support you with your company. I never complained, I just completely changed my whole character to fit into your oh so important society. I’m done doing things for you, Khun.” Unshed tears burned in his eyes and he turned around. “I’m sorry Nichkhun, but I just can’t do that anymore. It hurts too much.” With these words he left the apartment.
Taecyeon was already waiting for him to drive him to the airport. He was leaving for the states to try becoming a dancer as he always wanted. He wouldn’t be thinking about others again. He would be thinking just about himself.
He didn’t talk during the ride. But he didn’t cry. He just couldn’t cry anymore.
---
Nichkhun could only stare at the door. Slowly, his knees buckled and he sank down onto the floor. What had he done? Was Wooyoung telling the truth? Did he really abandon him these past two years? Abandoned the only person who ever meant something to him, for work?
He needed to get out, he needed air. The house was suddenly too small, too warm. He needed to breathe. He quickly walked out of the house, not bothering to lock the doors behind him. He spent the next few hours walking aimlessly through town. The town that once astonished him, that once inspired him. It seemed so plain suddenly.
The fancy restaurant he always held his business diners at, seemed merely like a hot dog booth. The beautiful cafe, he went to with Victoria was only a stupid fast food chain. He never even thought about inviting Wooyoung there. God, just what had he done?
As he eventually reached their house, he hoped everything was a bad dream. He couldn’t believe it was over. How could that have happened to the two of them? They weren’t meant to break up, never. Two years ago, they planned there whole life together, just how did he screw up the only happiness he had?
The house still seemed too dark. Without Wooyoung in it, it’s lost all of its light. He ruined everything. Losing Wooyoung was worse than dying, how could he let it go that far? How come he never noticed?
The whole situation had to be a cruel joke. It couldn’t be true. He couldn’t have driven Wooyoung out of his life. He just couldn’t.
And yet he did.
---
Two years later, Nichkhun’s head was still filled with only one name. Wooyoung. Wooyoung. Wooyoung…
Nothing could make him stop thinking about the boy. His boyfriend. His ex-Boyfriend. He still couldn’t really believe that he was gone. The years went by like hours.
He was living in New York now; back in the town he met Wooyoung for the first time almost 6 years ago. It was a self-punishment of sorts, but also a pathetic try to find him and get him back.
And one day he actually did.
He was walking down the street where his apartment was when he saw him talking to a pretty small guy. His head just blacked out. He saw the guy leaving and Wooyoung turning into his direction. Without thinking he just ran towards him and pulled him into his arms, holding on tightly. He kept on repeating his name over and over again, when he realized he was crying.
Wooyoung stood frozen in his arms, but then hesitantly brought his arms around his waist, burying his face in his neck. “Nichkhun…” By only saying his name, Wooyoung destroyed any selfcontrol he still had.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, Wooyoung.” Khun shook his head and even tightened his grip. “I promise you I will never abandon you again. These past years I couldn’t get you out of my head, you mean everything to me. Please, just give me a second chance. I beg you, please.” He noticed that he was babbling and closed his mouth. Leaning back a bit, he dreaded to look into his face.
His love’s face. His life’s face.
But Wooyoung was smiling, with his own tears on his face. “I love you so much, please forgive me.” Nichkhun repeated, choking slightly.
“I know.” Wooyoung pulled him back into his arms. “I know. I love you, too.”
Nichkhun almost fainted from relieve and it was his turn to bury his head in Wooyoung’s neck. “Thank you. Thank you, Wooyoung. I love you so much, I love you…”
AN: Yeah, well, so this was inspired by 4 songs actually: Mainly Craig David's (or Taecyeon's) 'You Don't Miss Your Water.
Then Boa's 'I Did It For Love'; Lucas Grabeel's 'Outta My Head' and strangely enough Far East Movement's 'So What' :D
Hope you enjoyed it even if it was a bit strange ^^
