ugh, so I'm sorry I pretty much disappeared the past week and a half. Nothing particularly special happened, I have just been so tired and emotionally drained and lacked all motivation to do anything for a multitude of reasons. And there are too many things I need to talk about, so whenever I go to make a post, I'm like, "No this is going to take ( Read more... )

ooo that's a great list of movies! I'm so excited for Before Midnight since Before Sunrise/Sunset are both on my list of all time favs.

I had to train someone like that. She literally has taken SEVERAL NOTEBOOKS full of notes. It's probably enough to have written her own book on what we do and yet I'm not sure how much it's really helped? And she's also SUPER slow. If I goofed off on the internet all day long and then worked for 15mins I'm sure I could do more work than she does concentrating really hard and barely taking a lunch. It's sad.

My only sci fi vote is for Lost Girl and I don't even watch that show, it's basically just an anti-Merlin/Avengers/BSG/The Hobbit/etc. vote
haha same! Although I probably will vote for BSG just because I don't know what else to pick? Lost Girl has pretty lesbians and that's all I know.
Do you watch Bunheads btw? I do, but I literally felt like I was the only one and I was pleased to see all these people voting for it.

JON GROFF!!! hahaha I'm still watching the god awful musicals too. I think it's safe to say that I will never stop watching Glee. I mean, if I've hung on after all the crap they've already done I can't imagine what would possibly push me over the edge now.

I actually hate watching Smash even more which is really just sad. I think it's because I find it boring a lot of the time? And with Glee even if I'm bored and/or enraged by 75% of an episode there's usually always one storyline I'm at least mildly interested in (also I have a mandatory alcohol rule when watching so that helps, lol). And I kind of hate the Smash covers? The original stuff sung by Megan Hilty and Jeremy Jordon is usually SO GREAT, but their often bizarre dream sequence cover song scenes are the worst....to the extent where it's given me new appreciation for Glee. But yea, I'll probably keep watching. I also enjoy playing "SPOT MY FAVORITE LOCAL PLACES" because they've spent a weird amount of time filming within a 2 block radius of me this season. On Friday night I actually came home to Smash trucks in front of my building and I could see them setting up from my window, haha.

I HOPE YOU'RE ABLE TO GET SOME MUCH NEEDED REST SOON!

WAY TOO EXCITED FOR BEFORE MIDNIGHT!!!! I need it in front of my eyeballs ASAP.

ugh, seriously, that is exactly what this woman is like. She has taken so many notes, but she keeps asking me things she's taken notes on, and SHE NEVER ACTUALLY USES THE NOTES. I was even showing her something I had shown her before that she had taken notes on, and she was like "Oh, I should take notes since I don't have any on this yet," and I was like "ARE YOU KIDDING ME, YES YOU DO!!!!!"

I actually do love BSG, I think I'm just a little resentful because I feel like it got in on a technicality? Like, in the true spirit of things, it shouldn't really be included. But I'm less bothered by its presence than the movie/book fandoms just because I feel like they don't fit. I do actually watch Bunheads!!! I mean, I'm a couple episodes behind so I haven't seen the finale yet, but it's a totally delightful show, so it was easy to vote for it (even though I knew it wouldn't make it).

I was wondering if you were still watching Glee! I say I'm still watching Glee, but I still haven't actually seen anything since like 4.03. But I know what's going on via Tumblr, and there are at least some scenes I want to see, so I'm pretty sure I'll just end up marathoning the rest of the season over the summer.

I have that problem with Smash, too! Like, as much as Glee makes me rage, at least there are characters I feel passionately about, and the rage is honestly more fun at this point than the boredom that Smash induces. And I agree that I tend to enjoy the Glee covers way more than the Smash covers. There are the occasional Smash songs I enjoy (like Let Me Be Your Star and Broadway, Here I Come), but they are few and far between.

Thank you!!! I actually feel way more rested than I would've expected to after the past week and weekend, so I guess I managed to get the rest in somewhere!

I hear you on BSG, but I just don't have many horses in the sci-fi race. I watch Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, I used to watch Fringe, and there are a few things I stopped watching due to disinterest. lol that's literally it.

I'm glad to hear you watch Bunheads! I'm also behind on it, but I've been in the mood to catch up recently.

I'm actually enjoying Glee much more this season than I was last season weirdly. Of course it's still a hot mess, but there's never been a time when that wasn't true. I guess there are just more storylines I'm interested in this year? I LOVE the fact that Santana is in NY with Kurt & Rachel now. And even though I hate that they used cheating for Kurt & Blaine, the aftermath of it has been 1000x better than I ever expected from this show (I'm not saying it was "good writing" by any means, but I haven't enjoyed them this much since s2 and that counts for something?) And there's been some decent friendship stuff this year (beyond just Kurt & Rachel) that actually lasts for more than one random episode!
LOL I can't believe I just wrote a whole pro-Glee paragraph. IDK! I enjoy it in the way I used to enjoy daytime soaps. Intellectually I hate everything, but somehow I'm still entertained at times against my better judgement.

Yea, Glee and Smash are sort of opposites in terms of music. Smash occasionally has some great original broadway songs, whereas basically all the Glee original songs are OTT AWFUL (save for things like Trouty Mouth and My Headband that are meant to be like that, haha). And then Smash just fails at regular covers 80% of the time, whereas sometimes that's all Glee does right, haha.
