I really enjoyed Go On, more than I thought I would. I agree with everything you said about it. I think I'll stick with The New Normal, just because it's fun and really doesn't require much intellectual ability to watch.
Yeah, even though there are a lot of things about The New Normal I don't care for, there's enough I enjoy and it's easy enough to watch that I'll probably keep up with it for at least a little while. I can always do with something I can put on in the background while I'm doing other stuff anyways, haha.
I liked Go On more than I thought I would too. I'm glad because beyond my Chandler stanning pre-teen days (haha), I also love Laura Benanti from when I've seen her on stage so I love that she's on it

I think the problem with Ryan Murphy shows is they have really likable characters (with endearing actors) to start off with, and some witty lines of dialogue and clever jokes, so you get into it... but then he puts his characters through the wringer and does absolutely atrocious things to them. Bah. But I did end up watching the season premiere of Glee because I hate myself??? It actually wasn't all that heinous, except LOL Kate Hudson. Oh girl I can smell the mid-life crisis desperation on you. BUT RACHEL AND KURT IN NYC!!! Can the whole show just be that with side flashes to Santana? And what was up with that Jesse St. James wannabe, oh show if you're going to give Rachel a new love interest with musical theatre aspirations... don't, because you already crushed my dreams once on that front and I will accept no substitutes.
I'm so bad because I live in Toronto so I could have seen TIFF films but... I did not. I really liked the trailer for Silver Lining Playbook. And Pitch Perfect! I am so, so psyched for that. LADIES AND ACAPELLA

ugh, yes, that's definitely true. I would not have stuck with Glee nearly as long as I have if it weren't for the actors and certain characters (well, and the singing/performances, too). I wasn't even 100% sure I would end up watching the premiere because I had zero urge to even though I was planning on keeping up with the show this season, especially since I hadn't even seen last season's finale, but I did finally end up watching the finale and then this season's premiere, and at this point I don't even know if I can tell what's a good episode and what's a bad episode of this show anymore because like... my expectations are just so utterly low that I just kind of roll my eyes at the awful stuff but then move on rather than raging like I would have a year ago, and anything that's not awful is just kind of a pleasant surprise
