Summary:
"So I can't come back," Rydia says, with her voice half angry and half choked on tears: "...ever?"
"It's dangerous, darling," Asura says, and her voice is stern, because Rydia isn't really listening; when the young Caller gets upset her thoughts tend towards Meteo rather than logic. "Every time you come back you age a little more. Do you want to spend the rest of your life growing older than Cecil?”
“It -” and now she really is choking, though the Queen still isn’t sure whether it’s sadness or rage or some combination of the two. “That’s my home too, Asura, you can’t make me stay away forever. I’ll come back,” and in her voice is the unspoken you can’t stop me anymore.
“It’s not forever,” Asura says, her voice soothing as only a healer can, and Rydia calms slightly. “You can still see me, and Levia, any time you want to Summon us. And we - we’ll do what we can with the Land, my daughter.” She smiles, to reassure. “There will be more Callers, eventually, and they’ll pull our Land back to yours. Rydia, this isn’t the end.”
For Rydia, that's what it feels like.
