It amazed me last night, as I was having an anxiety attack in the BCC parking lot, how many people just walked by me. I was on the floor gasping for air the way someone choking might sound and about three people just walked past me without looking at me. Finally I had to scream for help to some guy who was walking towards me. He calmed me down and found a police officer to call rescue.
I have never had this happen to me in my life. When I was a teenager I have had what I considered to be panic attacks. But this was like I was drowning and I literally could not take in breaths. By the time the paramedics got there my fingers were curling up and I had to be put on a mask to calm down.
How it started:
Sunday night I began feeling dizzy. In the middle of the night I began vomiting and having diarrhea. Monday I felt so sick all day. The only reason I went to school that evening was because I had an exam and I had not heard back from my professor as to whether or not I'd be able to take the test another day. So I didn't want to assume she'd just allow me to without setting it up ahead of time.
Now since this was totally out of the norm for me, I've never had this happen before, I'm trying to understand what happened:
-I was disoriented from being sick.
-I began taking probiotics the same day
-I may have been dehydrated; even though the paramedics told me it was severe
-My potassium was low
-I was crying because I felt bad
Just a note; if you ever see someone who looks like they might be in need of some real help, check to see if they are ok. They may be just fine; this happened to me in a Target parking lot. A pregnant woman was bent over by her car and then she began vomiting. I was concerned because she was close to be full term, so i asked if she needed to go to the hospital. She said she just vomits a lot. OR they may actually need help, like I did last night.
