Our Clear Creek Trip
Well today was an LJ worthy day... I got up early just as I usually have to with the kids... then I woke up Mike so that we could take the kids out. The plan was to go to a park. That never happened... When we got to the park the sprinklers were on... enough said. lol They were soaked. So we took them for a walk on the trail so they could dry off a bit... ha yeah right. We found a cool little place in Clear Creek that was steady enough to swim in and we decided to go for it. Matthew and Josh stayed on the shallow side with no current and Mike, Laura and I decided to swim across the river to see what was on the other side because there were some small waterfalls and cool trees. Well... as in any river there is mud and lots of it... slippery mud too. Yeah... let’s just say I get to use crutches for the next few days. Busted my foot really nicely and my leg is scratched from my knee to about the middle of my shin. Oh but that isn't the most fun part... just after I fell we hear Josh screaming... because he is bleeding profusely from his mouth... Mike bolted over there to see what happened but I was hysterically crying still sitting on the ground. Apparently Matthew was playing with a stick and swung it behind him and hit Josh in the tooth loosening one and ripping parts of his gums... yuck! I struggle to get back to the other side getting dragged horribly by the current because I couldn’t move my foot. But I finally made it with Mike’s help and we started on our way. So we picked up mom and went to the ER for Josh, me being without a job I didn't have the money for a visit to the hospital so I'm just hobbling around hoping my foot isn't broken. Josh is doing 'great' as he told me, they cut the loose parts of his gums away so they didn't get infected or pulled and his teeth will be fine. So we are all very glad about that. But yes… I am using crutches… oh how fun. I don’t even want to get up anymore let alone use those things. We went out to 2 places to get me a brace for my foot so I had to use them a lot tonight. Hopefully I can keep the kids entertained around here for a few days so I can at least walk with out them again. But I guess it’s time for me to go to bed… kids wake up really early in the morning… who knew?
