I work with a man named Dash. He was born and raised in India. He's tall and kinda thin, but not scrawny. He has a daughter who's married, a daughter just graduating from UNH, and a son in high school. He gave me a ride home this afternoon after work. Just an FYI:
India's Religions. Dash is very much about traditions, and he only came to the US because it was cool. He plans to move back to the house which he still owns there. His religion confuses me. He has these pictures in his car of this animated colorful man with a red background. The man is indian and has a white beard. I don't know who it is. And then he said "And I say 'thank god'." to me, but... could he be one of the 2%? Don't know... He asked me about if I had sibilings, and I told him all about my family. He rambled on about how in India, no one has sex before their married. I don't feel like he was judging me at all, it was just interesting. He also told me about how he has to get 2 pounds of gold and invite over 1,000 guests to a wedding. And exclaims that it's very expensive. From past conversations, I know that Dash's wife cooks very well and its tradition for women to spend 9 months just learning how to cook with their mothers. He also told me that he likes his life in India much better.
I wish I was indian. Perhaps I could at least visit him. :o)
