Ever since I saw the second Chronicles of Narnia movie, Prince Caspian, I've had a slight obsession with Susan/Caspian as a pairing. They're just so sweet, and sad at the same time. This fanmix is really two different ones. The first half is kind of the ideal ending for the movie. The second half is examining more of what really happened, even past the ending. I hope you guys like it. Oh. Credit where credit is due. The gorgeous cover art was made by the brilliant
illuxtris

1) Breathing Space (Instrumental); X-Ray Dog

2) If You Want Me Too; Ginny Owens
 //Closer to You//
Susan had noticed the way Caspian looked at her and, judging by the way Edmund had elbowed her her, he'd noticed too. Susan, she just tried not to meet his gaze. She'd been startled at what she'd seen in his eyes. So many emotions kings princes usually tried to hide. She still wasn't sure how they'd ended up back in Narnia, but in that moment he looked at her, she found herself wanting to help him in any way she could.

3) Rule the World; Take That
 //Light up the Sky//
 If Susan had been upset when she'd heard, it was nothing to how she felt not. Telling Caspian that she wouldn't be coming back. His arms folded around her tightly, and a whispered 'Don't Leave' was pressed against her neck. When she finally pulled away she turned to Aslan, teary eyed.. He seemed to consider it for a moment before nodding. "If it's what you truly want..." Before she knew it, his arms were around her once more, and they were spinning about the courtyard, heedless of the watching crowd.

4) This is Home; Switchfoot
//A Place of my Own//
The ceremony was larger than she'd ever imagined it would be, but the faces were all friendly. She could have sworn she'd even seen Reepicheep swiping at his eyes now and then. Despite a lingering sadness at her family not being present, Susan knew that this was where she belonged. Queen Susan and King Caspian. The true rulers of Narnia.

5) In Praise of the Vulnerable Man; Alanis Morissette
//Lead Your Calvary Home//
Susan would never be one of those war wives who saat at home while their husbands risked their lives for Narnia. She would often joke that she was older and had seen more battle than he had. In truth, she was simply there to make sure that he came home.

6) Fields of Gold; Sting
//When We Walked in Fields of Gold//
Many years after their deaths, King Caspian and Queen Susan's anniversary was still a day to celebrate and to remember their reign. A memorial service, held in the field near Aslan's How, was always led by their tearful daughter, the Princess Lucy.

7) Beloved (Instrumental); Yiruma

8) So Close; Jon McLaughlin
//This Was Not Pretend//
She would never be able to explain how she did it. How she could hurt him so, and still smile. How she could pull away from him, after he'd fairly begged her to stay with him. As if everything between them had never existed.

9) The Call; Regina Spektor
//When You Call Me//
Maybe some small part of her hoped, however unlikely it was, that Aslan was wrong. The horn had worked once. Who could say it wouldn't work again? Maybe someday, he would be able to call her back, and their story could continue.

10) Run; Snow Patrol
//So Hard Not to Cry//
Years later, Lucy would ask her how she could do it. How she could walk through the archway without a single glance back at the besotted king. Susan would shrug and say she just hadn't thought of it, but the truth was, she couldn't turn around. If she did, if she saw the tears she knew were in his eyes, she wouldn't have been able to make herself leave.

11) Almost Lover; A Fine Frenzy
//In and Out of My Life//
Caspian knew he shouldn't be so upset at Susan. After all, it hadn't really been her choice to leave. Even so, she'd done it so easily. He was often up late at night after all his advisers were asleep, and try to imagine what she was doing, and if she remembered him.

12) Waking Life; Schuyler Fisk & Dave Bassett
//Looking for the Prince//
But of course she remembered him. She couldn't forget about him even if she wanted to. There were times: in the shop, getting on the underground, wakling home from school. Where she could have sworn she'd seen him. He was always gone before she could look back.

13) Seven Wonders; Nickel Creek
//Veiling His Disgrace//
Some of the Telmarines, even some of the Beasts, seemed to find it amusing that Queen Susan would choose the normal world over a home in Narnia with Caspian. They would bow as he approached, giggling and whispering once he'd passed. A few swift kicks from Trumpkin's boot soon ended the giggles, but the whispering never stopped.

14) Rainbow; Fefe Dobson
//Fade Away//
Despite the pain at knowing it would never be her, Susan couldn't help but wish that Caspian was happy. That wherever he was, he'd found someone else.

15) One of the Brightest Stars; James Blunt
//They'll Make You Glorious//
"Do we have to go to bed, mom." The two young boys whined. Susan smiled gently down at them, pulling the covers up further, around Peter's neck. "Yes. You have to go to bed. Now, which story would you like tonight?" "About Prince Caspian!" They both chimed in immediately, not noticing the farway look that came into their mother's eyes at the name. "Alright. I'll tell you that one, one last time. Then you have to go to bed."

Rar. File (Includes all songs, and the cover art)

Yes, I know that each time a character speaks, you start a new line, but as these were just short little drabbles, I decided to let that go. No complaining. lol

I hope you enjoy the mix. Please comment if you download. Let me know how you like it. Also, if the links die, let me know and I'll do my best to reupload them asap.
