5 days?!?! Fuck Bush. Im sick and tired of his bullshit. Its really sad it has taken this many lives for people to start realizing how much of a dumbass he is. Why in hell did America impeach Clinton, with the only reasoning being something in his personal life which was morally wrong to some americans. And why has Bush been president for 6 years,

well, i don't completely know about that... before the hurricane came, no one knew it was going to swing towards louisinana, and then when it did, no one could predict that it was going to build so rapidly... upgrading one or two levels a day. i think for where they were located, looking at all that has been going on in our nation the past little bit, we actually did a half way efficent job getting people out. fourty years ago, i rather doubt if they could have done it as fast as we have. even if the funding wanted had been there, it would have taken years, way back into the clinton administration, to have kept everything up to code, years before FEMA released its report that Louisiana was a target for a natural disaster. in addition, gas prices are not all that bad. looking at the inflation of everything else, gas prices were way too low. in england, gas is between 4-6 dollars. the media is showing the worst of the worst, trying to drive the situation home... but they fail to show the good, nine times out of ten. that is the job of the media, to blow things out of proportion. if you feel moved enough, join in and help... i know people who worked the reunion table at the convention center this weekend. my family is donating clothes and about 100 dollars worth of supplies. there is a new girl in my english class from down there and i'm going to try to help her out. if there was any room in my house whatsoever, we would try to house someone, but we do not even have enough room for ourselves as it is right now. as to the discrimination... it never left our country, and until the day we can all learn to accept eachother's cultures, until we erase the boundaries of what is acceptable per race, we will still be a divided nation... it is also wonderful to see that those countries that we have helped out in the past are now helping us. the hurricane may have done some good in the long run anyhow... erasing the historical boundaries of rich white and poor black neighborhoods in new orleans, now that the city will probably have to be leveled. i personally refuse to keep looking on the tragedy, but look forward by what potential for good we are left with for the future.
