such an industry town...

jason and I had one of the most fun nights i've had in a while. Originally going to see a movie, i got tickets on-line and they turned out to be for the wrong theatre. we then proceeded to drink hard acholol, which for some reason always tends to be the rocket fuel for disaster with us... but not that night...

got to check out a lot of cool bars we hadn't hit up yet. burondy room and tokyo... fun... only place you fan go for karaoke on a friday night! Not too packed, decent prices, friendly bar tenders. I was impressed. Hopefully the lack of business isn't a sign of them going out of business... 3 of my favorite little holes in the wall just got shut down... alright... back to the evening...
got to power house... jason and I were pretty trashed, but we still managed to hustle a couple of guys at a game of darts. Played some cricket... Jason got all the other numbers closed out, and I just kept hitting the bullseyes... hoorah marine marksmanship!

Was chatting up these girls after the game... jason got tired and left. I sat at here drinking with the girls and went to get another drink. This guy comes and steals my seat! My drink was right there, and he just stole it. I asked him to move, and of course he was hating on me because I was talking to his "girls". He was starting to give me static because I suppose he thought I was muscling in on his action. I really didn't care! I was just in the middle of a conversation, and I figured I'd finish continue it when I get back. I guess I'm not a horny scumbag ALL of the time! I started to talk to a couple of his lady friends... naturally he hated me more with every minute I sat next to him talking to his lady friends.

One of them was enamored with the fact that I was in the military, and we got in to a philosophical discussion about killing being compassionate even in war. For a drunken rambling it was actually a good conversation.

The ultimate L.A. moment came when they were all leaving. She told me to keep in touch w/ me, especially if I get deployed, and gave me her "card". I looked at her and simply said "your business card? What is this! I'm not trying to "network" i'm just trying to have fun!" She begins to write something on the back of the card and gives me her "e-mail". Her other friend thought I was pitching her my resume when I first started talking to her. This town is ran by the industry and it's surface dwellers man... esp. in the hollywood scene. I kinda like not fitting in though... just like with fashion, blending in is boring... contrast, is key.
Well, enough of my rambling...
