Here I am. Well, I was asked very nicely to make a post. So, here I am. What to talk about?
Married life isn't a horrid as everyone likes to make it out to be, but it can be pretty bad at times. When we butt heads, it's so much worse than it was when we did before, and that seems to happen more now than before, but that's just what happens when you force two people to be closer. But, for what I say negative about it in the last few sentences, I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love my wife and I love my son. Hard times be damned, the good ones make it all worth it. When she curls up next to me in bed and whispers that she loves me. No better feeling. ^_^
So, I gave up junk food for lent. Sucks. I can't have chips, cake, soda, etc. Makes dessert a very sad time for me, as this house is always stocked with some sort of junk food. Be it cake, brownies, or ice cream. :( Oh well, only...uhh..4 weeks? Until Easter that is. It's cool, I can beat this. lol
I started on my book. Well, sorta. The story is pulling itself together quite quickly now. I find myself disheartened a little when I don't have as much time to work on it as I would like. I'm also thinking about how I'm going to pull off turning it into a podiobook after the book itself is done. Hmm...
I've been reading some good stories, well...reading and listening to at work. Scott Sigler is now a personal favorite of mine. His books rock a little in the socks. I highly recommend Infected and Nocturnal. I also picked up a book called The Summoner on a whim. It's written by Gail Z. Martin. Not to be overtly sexist, but I was a little surprised by the writing of this female author, as it came to action and romance. Meaning, there was a lot more of the former than the latter. She wrote the story in a very appealing to male standards kind of way. A far contrast from the Twilight series which my wife was reading. lol This, too, was a series, but I believe it's only a trilogy as opposed to a quadrilogy. The series is called Chronicles of the Necromancer. It's about a young prince who gets caught up in a mission to avenge his family. But here's the twist. He see's dead people! *blows out a cold breath* It was really well written and quite entertaining. I've been sad that I haven't had the chance to grab the next installment.
My baby's playing the Wii right now. We just bought Wii Play for the second controller, and she's absolutely hooked on the fishing. lol I love the tanks. Makes me feel mighty. Rawr. lol There're a ton of games I want to get, including Twilight Princess(no, not Bella). Fun with sword fighting and magic. Can't beat that! She's CRACKIN' me up. Singing lullaby's to the fishy's before trying to catch them. Trying to bait the big fish by saying "Here fishy fishy. Wun bite? Wun bite?" lol
It amazes me just how much amusement in our day comes from our son, even when he's off in bed, sleeping to the sounds of Bambi and Thumper. I don't regret any of my decisions up to this point in that regard. I know I'm right where I belong.
My latest game obsession is Oblivion. I got rehooked on it after I stopped playing WoW. I have a thief that I've been using recently, and he's gotten the furthest I've ever gone in the game. I've gotten to the point where I can nail someone with an arrow, and my sneak is so high that they know they've been hit, but they still don't detect me. I can ninja my way into just about anywhere, and I've been making a fun time of sneaking through castles and walking off with their gems. I don't even need the money anymore, I just do it for the fun. You should see my hut. It's packed with stuff. lol
Well, I think I'm going to go kiss my wife and brush my teeth. Maybe try to work on my book some. God Bless and good night.
