Everyone is okay.
And I know thats the most important thing of all.
But man oh man does this suck.
We wont be able to move back in for at least 6-8 months.
That's a long fucking time. A very very fucking long time!
Everything in the house, for the most part is going to have to be replaced, a few things downstairs may be salvagable...but we wont know til they go to the cleaners if they'll ever loose that smoke smell. Everything. Except for the unreplacables, the priceless baby books and christmas ornaments and pictures and papers furniture that was built by my grandpa...
They think it was probably electrical. An old extention cord...
We are really lucky, all things concidering, but then again, I don't think its all sunk it just yet. Wait, I know it hasn't.
For right now, my mom and I are at a friends house, and John is with Mike and Scott. If you need to reach me you can only get me on my cell now..
And like Mike said to me today, Yes, this sucks, and its a terrible thing, especially for John, But at least we all still have the memories of all the good times. And no fire or smoke can change that.
