A eight year old Tatsuki bounced the soccer ball off of her head as she watched her daddy get ready for another meeting, “Want to play soccer with me?” She was hoping he would, he -never- played with her anymore, when she was a toddler he would read to her but she could barely remember that, and when her momma got sicker he had to work more.
Couldn’t he play with her just this once?
He leaned down and patted her head fondly, “Your momma and me need you to tough it out for awhile, she’s sick and you want her to live right? Just go play on your own, you shouldn’t need people around anyway.” She nodded dutifully, wanting to make her daddy proud of her. She loved him and her momma, she could go play on her own.
The next week she was signed up for Karate classes, now she wouldn’t need someone to protect her, and she could practice this on her own! The dojo was close enough she could walk, and it would help her be stronger for her parents too.

Tatsuki slumped in her desk, nursing the bruise forming on her jaw. The teacher sighed before her, “Arisawa-chan I’m afraid I have to call you’re father now, sleeping in class and then hitting the student who tried to wake you and starting a fight is unexcusable.” What the hell was with her anyway?! She hardly ever did anything but when she did oh it was a travesty. Normally her fights were with guys who tried shit with her, or they tried shit with Orihime so it was excused, but nooo not this one time.
“It doesn’t matter, he has work tonight.” She stood from the desk, “I have soccer practice, call him if you want.” She ignored whatever the woman was saying as she left, grabbing her bag on the way out, who gave a damn about her anyway.
