Tenten, Deidara

Characters: Tenten, Deidara
Status: Closed
Location: A club, a coffee shop, outside
Date: March 7th, 2007
Summary: Tenten and Deidara hang out, go dancing, and chat.
Warnings: Swearing, dancing, but no monkeys.

Deidara: So he would finally get to meet the object of Sasori's plottings. Good thing the redhead didn't know. He might break out of where ever he was being confined to stop him from what he thought would ruin his plans. He took off work early, only helped set the bar up - which took an hour or so to do, so he was still doing them a favor, and went back into his room to change. The last girl he'd hung out with was Anko... he kind of missed that crazy woman, but not really. He scoffed at himself for thinking something like that and tugged his black jacket on over top of his black jeans, thin t-shirt and his hair, letting onto the small pony tail he wore his hair in be visible, as well as his trade mark locks over his left eye.

Leaning against the bar he toyed with a cigarette, waiting for this girl - he forgot her name - to show up.

Tenten: Rather excited at the thought of meeting one of Sasori's friends - at least she thought Deidara was friends with Sasori considering the comment in his journal directed at him, Tenten had taken a bit of care with her appearance. Leaving her hair mostly down, similar to Sailor Moon's style, she had put on a pair of slim fitting jeans and ripped up Iron Maiden shirt over a black mesh shirt. She hadn't been out to a bar since leaving Kyoto, and didn't want to overdress. Besides, she didn't want to appear to be something she wasn't either, and even Sasori admitted that Tenten was no lady. As she headed to the bar she found herself wondering exactly what her status with Sasori was. They had been on two dates, neither one ending in anything major, and while she was having fun there was still something about the situation that rang false to her. She chalked it up to nerves, and wished she could just trust that some guy other than Lee could find her interesting.

Before heading inside the bar she took one last moment to hope that she didn't make a horrible impression. She needed more friends, and Deidara seemed nice enough. Walking inside, she smiled brightly and waved to him, heading over.

Deidara: Deidara and Sasori had been friends for over fifteen years. And they had very little in common. They fought all the time. To most they never got along. They did have similarities however, few just thought of them as the same because they never did them at the same time. Besides they're love of art, there was the love of manipulation. Getting what they wanted. Both could play 'nice' but neither really were 'nice'. Negativity was usually the first thing that came to mind.

In Tenten's case, he thought she looked plain. Like an average every day person. His curiosity towards Sasori's choice in her rose a little, but he didn't let it show on his face as he stood up from his leaning position and went over to her. He was several inches shorter then her, but he didn't seem bothered at all. Another difference between Sasori and himself. "Awai Deidara, un," he said introducing himself, his cigarette held in his left hand as his right was held out to her.

Tenten: Taking the hand and giving a firm, quick handshake in return, Tenten felt immediately at ease in the environment and with the company. Had she known that both Sasori and Deidara thought her to be too gullible for words she'd probably get rather annoyed, but currently her lack of this knowledge was keeping her current companion and her current (possible) boyfriend from certain harm. There was also the fact that Deidara just didn't look like a jerk, so she didn't immediately assume he was.

Giving him a quick once-over, Tenten nodded, and murmured a polite phrase. "Akeboshi Tenten, nice to meet you." She pulled her hand back, sliding it into her pocket as she looked around. "Pretty cool looking place you have here, have you worked here long?" She wasn't exactly a master of conversation, and idly questioned to herself if he'd be judging her. She knew she was no exotic beauty or anything, but all things considered she wasn't looking for anything more than someone to hang out with.

Deidara: Deidara screamed casual and at ease. His posture, his clothes. His eyes narrowed upwardly as he smiled at her at the hand shake, returning the cigarette to his lips a moment. "Since Christmas, un," Deidara informed her, making a gesture towards the place. Deidara wasn't exactly the conversationalist either, but he could be he supposed, if he had to. "Shall we?" he opened the door for her with his free hand and motioned her out.

Tenten: Tenten noticed the slight narrowing of his eyes and couldn't help but wonder what was bugging him. She nodded as she moved to head out, cracking her knuckles as they walked. She knew it wasn't the most feminine of habits, but she had been working out and hitting a punching bag, so her knuckles hurt. "Must be a fun place to work, lots of good people watching." She hoped this wouldn't end up being a waste of time, but kept her thoughts well hidden.

Deidara: "Indeed," he said with a grin and a nod. The narrowing had meant nothing, simply a look of mock fondness with a hint of mischief. "So did you pick between the three choices you offered over the journals, un? I'm not much for puppy kicking though."

Tenten: Tenten blushed slightly at his joke, biting her lip as she tried to think of what would be best. "Well, are there any movies playing you might want to see, or do you know what clubs around here are good? I haven't been in the city long enough to know the hot clubs or anything."

Deidara: Deidara made a face as though he were remembering something that annoyed him as well as amused him with a hint of sheepishness. "I don’t think you'd want to go to the movies with me, un," Deidara informed her. He couldn’t sit still for movies. Going to the movies with him usually ended up with him and whoever he was with getting kicked out and banned from the theater. "There's a few dance clubs if you're interested."

Tenten: Tenten glanced down at what she was wearing, shrugging as she thought about how long it had been since she went dancing. "Yeah, I'm up for dancing, as long as you don't think I look too casual?" She had no idea what the style around here was like, and Deidara seemed pretty stylish so she had no qualms about asking him for advice. "I'll warn you though, I haven't been dancing in ages and I usually get caught up out there, so if you want to leave you'll have to kick me or something to get me off that dance floor." She grinned to show she was joking.

Deidara: Snorting softly, Deidara raised an eyebrow. "I'm sure a few drinks'll warm you up so you're not so rusty, un." he smirked over at her and nodded for them to cross the street. He did so without looking, ignoring the cars that honked at him angrily.

Tenten: Tenten felt her cheeks warm up again, laughing softly. "You'll have to get any drinks, last I checked I still have a few months until I'm legal." She turned to look at him, raising a finger to her lips with a cheeky expression. "Shh, we'll keep that our secret though."

Deidara: What a dork. "I just turned nineteen, un," Deidara informed her. "I've been drinking since middle school."

Tenten: So he thought he was some kind of rebel, huh? "I'm nineteen too, but when you do martial arts you tend to avoid things that screw up training." Tenten didn't mind him thinking her a dork.

Deidara: Deidara shrugged. "To each," he informed her. Pointing to a neon lit building, Deidara grinned. "Do you just get involved in the dancing, or can you actually dance?" The grinned he had on showed he was teasing.

Tenten: Tenten smirked slightly. "I took seven years of lessons, so I think I know some moves. How 'bout you?" She headed towards the building he had indicated and wondered if the teasing was a sign he wasn't viewing her just as the girl dating Sasori.

Deidara: "Learned on a dance floor, un," Deidara informed her, going into the building. The music was loud but not overbearing. Heading to the bar, Deidara ordered himself two shots of vodka and looked at Tenten. "Care for a drink first?"

Tenten: "Sounds like you know your stuff then." Tenten smiled, the atmosphere of the place causing a thrill to run through her system. She liked the music, and could feel herself starting to move a bit. Nodding at Deidara, she grinned lightly. "Sure, I'll try whatever you suggest."

Deidara: "You a fancy drinker? or straight up?" he asked, taking his shot of vodka and drank it back.

Tenten: "Nothing fancy here, thanks." She grinned, holding up one hand as she tried to imagine drinking something she couldn't pronounce.

Deidara: He thought for a moment about ordering her straight up whiskey, rum, gin... no he wasn't that bad on the first night. He ordered her a margarita and handed her the glass. Tequila would unrust her pretty quickly.

Tenten: She took the drink with an interested glance at the contents of the glass, slightly wary of the pungent liquid. "This smells strong, but whatever. Bottoms up!" She took a deep swig, draining the glass and gasping loudly. "Whoa!"

Deidara: "Good, un?" he asked, looking over at her as he downed his second. "Lets dance," he backed into the crowd giving her a tempting look and a challenging smirk.

Tenten: "Yeah, that was good!" She could feel the liquid coursing through her system, and it made her feel nice and warm. "Mm, dancing sounds like a good idea..." She followed, already starting to move to the music.

Deidara: Grinning lazily, he began moving himself with the music, watching her approach. As they melted into the crowd, the people began dancing with them, all moving differently, yet as one against one another. Deidara's hand slid to her waist, dancing with her. He knew she considered herself a girlfriend of sorts with Sasori, but his hands obviously meant nothing save for dancing fun.

Tenten: Not seeing anything wrong with dancing with one of Sasori's friends, especially given the undefined nature of her situation with her sometimes date. Sliding herself up against Deidara easily, Tenten allowed the music and the alcohol in her system to loosen her up a bit, closing her eyes as she lost herself in the sounds. While it had been a while since she danced, her body remembered what to do.

Deidara: Hand staying at her waist, he moved against her and whoever stranger was behind him and next to him. It wasn't very crowded, but everyone seemed to want to dance with each other. "Show me your moves," he said just loud enough for her to hear him.

Tenten: Nodding slowly at his command, Tenten took a slight step back so she could move easier and felt herself relaxing. Throwing her hands up to give herself more range, she began to sway her hips almost as if she were belly-dancing, planting her feet apart and bending back to the beat.

Deidara: He watched her for a moment, not minding the arms and hands that went around his own body, people dancing against him. "Nice," he mouthed, motioning for her to come closer.

Tenten: Definitely feeling somewhat buzzed, she shimmied closer, completely ignoring the people around her. This was definitely a good idea, and Tenten was pleased by how light and warm she felt as she reached out to him with a smile.

Deidara: Taking her hand, he pulled her closer as the song changed. It was upbeat, somewhat old one, very swingy. People separated into pairs to dance, Deidara took Tenten as his. Swinging her out, still holding her hand, he pulled her back, holding her waist. "Enjoying yourself...? Or do you need another drink, un?" he asked, mouth close to her ear as he held her close before twirling her out again.

Tenten: There was something incredibly pleasant about everything, and Tenten couldn't stop herself from laughing happily as Deidara twirled her. She loved swing dancing, and easily found herself remembering old moves without even realizing it. "I am, do you think I need another drink? I mean, you're the expert, right?" She had decided to leave herself in his capable hands, not thinking anything bad could happen if she did.

Deidara: "Of course," he said coyly, smirking. "Bartender and all." he laughed freely. "If you want one, we'll get another, un." He swung her out and pulled her back. Hands going around her waist, he lifted her up despite his small height.

Tenten: "I think I'm okay, though...hell, I dunno!" She laughed again, shocked that he picked her up. "You're a really good dancer!" She hoped that he didn't think her silly for being impressed, but she rarely had anyone to dance with back home. "You make it all seem easy!"

Deidara: "Easiest thing to do," he told her, smirking egotistically. "Is to dance like no one's watching, un. People get jealous if you do," He laughed again and swung her over to the bar again. "But I'm thirsty." He ordered himself a sangria and leaned against the bar. He wondered how much drink this girl could handle...

Tenten: "That makes a lot of sense!" She found Deidara to be both amusing and friendly, even though she could sense he was rather prideful. "I think I could use another drink. What does the bartender recommend?" Tenten grinned, shooting him a far more flirtatious look than she intended. She couldn't wait to cool down enough to get back on the dance floor, her hips still moving of their own accord.

Deidara: "Tequila, un," he said, smirking then nodded at the bar tender. "Straight up." he drank back the bitter tasting wine that made him almost shudder, but it was just basically fruit punch with alcohol in it. What wasn't to like?

Tenten: "Tequila? Is that what was in my last drink?" She could feel her face heating slightly, and smiled slowly. "That stuff was good!" She leaned against the bar looking out over the crowd. "Remind me to thank you for showing me this place, ok? I owe you one!"

Deidara: "yeah, but it was mused down into a margarita, un. This is straight up." He smiled at her, leaning against the counter to watch her.

Tenten: "Straight up, hrm? I hope I can handle it." She smirked, certain she could. Picking up the glass, she took a deep breath and pounded the drink back like a shot.

Deidara: He made an impressed noise, though he honestly wasn't. People did all kinds of things when riled up like this. Clubs got to people's heads if you weren't careful.

Tenten: Her eyes widened slightly at the sharp taste, but overall the stuff didn't knock her on her ass like she worried it would. It gave her a moments' pause, but overall she felt great!

Deidara: "You looked like you enjoyed that, un," he said, smirking.

Tenten: "I've never had tequila before, did I drink it wrong?" She looked momentarily confused.

Deidara: "Who cares how you're supposed to drink it, un?" he asked, shrugging.

Tenten: "Well, you're a bartender, right? How do I know you won't mock me for gulping when I should sip?" She grinned, starting to bop in place.

Deidara: He threw his head back and laughed again. "Please, I've seen worse." he told her. "You finished dancing?" he asked, nodding at the floor suggestively.

Tenten: Tenten felt more at ease at his laughing, her blush fading as she shook her head. "I'm not finished yet. Why, are you?" She decided to take matters into her own hands and moved out onto the dance floor, throwing herself into the fray.

Deidara: He smirked again. Oh... he was going to have one hell of a time when Sasori found out about this. "Hell, no girl, just don’t get yourself killed out there," he shouted to her, following her into the fray himself and took her waist from behind.

Tenten: Tenten wasn't thinking about Sasori. She wasn't thinking about much of anything really, except cutting loose and dancing. Her body felt on fire and she simply had to move. Feeling Deidara's arms, at least she hoped it was him, she leaned back against him and began to rock to the rhythm.

Deidara: Grining against her shoulder, he didn't kiss her. Wouldn't even think of it actually. He just held her close and danced with her, letting her loose herself to the freedom the music. It was so easy to do. He closed his eyes to it all and went with it himself.

Tenten: Tenten was in such a state of bliss at the moment - between the tequila, the attention, and the music - that the fact that anyone might consider this at all suggestive or improper didn't even cross her mind. This was fun, good clean fun with a new and open-minded friend. Who danced really well.

Deidara: Holding her close for a second he pulled her away, slipping his hands under her butt, on her thigh, he lifted her up, flipping her over his shoulder and dropped her back down onto her feet. Twirling her out holding her hand and pulled her in again with his arms wrapped around her waist. "Having fun?" he asked.

Tenten: Absolutely breathless, Tenten was staring wide-eyed and almost gasping at Deidara. She was amazed she was still standing as she tried to erase the look of amazement off her face. She briefly wondered if she were plastered, but having no experience with it gave up on that. "I'm having a great time, how about you?"

Deidara: "A lovely time, un." he informed her. It'd really been a while since he'd been out... let alone with a complete stranger. Since he was last home in Sapporo. "You're not a bad dancer you know, un?"

Tenten: "Thanks! My mom wanted me to go into dancing, but I liked martial arts better." She informed him of this like he might actually care, too wobbly-headed to mind if he didn't. "I think you're bringing out my latent talent."

Deidara: "Martial arts and dancing are too similar not to do both, un," he informed her, turning her so they were facing one another as his hands went to her waist and hips, pulling her closer to him as he continued moving against the music.

Tenten: "Both involve knowing your body and making it move how you want." The underlying way her statement could be taken, especially in the context of the dancing, flew completely over her head. She closed her eyes again, winding her arms around her neck as she matched his movements.

Deidara: "How do you want your body to move, un?" he asked, sliding his hands up her sides.

Tenten: She laughed, her lips curving into a light smile. "Whatever way feels best...everything needs to feel good..."

Deidara: "Like what?" he asked again.

Tenten: Tenten frowned slightly as she tried to answer his question. "Like, good. I dunno." She couldn't think of something to compare it to.

Deidara: "Show me," he challenged with another smirk, holding his hands up and away from her, stopping his own dance moves.

Tenten: She blinked, wondering how to show him what she meant. "Fine." Her voice sounded almost petulant, but she began to dance again with slower and more controlled movement. She had no idea where she learned such moves, but the seemed far more open and seductive than she really was.

Deidara: "Hm...not bad... for a stiff," he snipped, coyly smirking at her, eyes narrowed challengingly again. He so enjoyed pushing people.

Tenten: Opening her eyes to glare slightly at him, she shook her head and started again, throwing aside any pretense of modesty as she began to shimmy and sway.

Deidara: He smirked, starting to dance again, holding her hips again as she moved. "Not bad, un," he told her, moving against her himself.

Tenten: She smiled again, her body pliable as she adjusted her movements to his. "Thanks for your approval, now I won't cry myself to sleep." Her tone was teasing.

Deidara: Sliding his hand down her thigh, pulling her leg up and spinning her against him, dipping her harshly with the sudden quick beat before returning to their slow seductive like movements. "Wouldn't want that, un... I don’t make girl cry," he told her.

Tenten: Her head felt dizzy at his sudden movements, but she was able to keep herself from doing something embarrassing. She took a deep breath to steady herself, sighing softly as her head returned to normal-ish. "That's good, especially since some girls might hit you." She would, without hesitation.

Deidara:"Yeah... Last girl I really hung out with threatened to..." he paused, thinking. "drag me cave woman style and fuck my brains out, un. I'm not stupid enough to make a woman mad, un." He had four foster sisters. He learned that the hard way.

Tenten: That gave Tenten a moments pause. She'd never threatened any guy like that, though now she'd have to remember to. "That doesn't sound like much of a threat, although I promise I would never drag you somewhere to uh...fuck your brains out. I prefer to be able to converse with people." Not to mention she barely knew him.

Deidara: "From this girl it was, un," Deidara said throwing his head back to laugh suddenly. "She's crazy as I am, un! And to a guy who was so sick he could barely feed himself soup on a spoon while she said this was quite terrifying, un."

Tenten: "Sounds like the makings for an interesting evening." Tenten was having trouble believing that somebody would threaten a sick man, but she supposed some people just had no sense. "I'd be afraid you'd puke on me or something. Maybe offer to get you well then do the other stuff."

Deidara: "Well this girl isn't as proper of a lady as you are, un," he praised, spinning her into a quick dip before his hands returned to her waist as they danced.

Tenten: That got a hearty laugh out of Tenten, who couldn't believe her dance partner would joke like that. "You know, it's not nice to lie to a girl with a buzz. She might delusions of grandeur." She shimmied closer, still chuckling.

Deidara: "Special?" he said with another smirk. "Well I'm so pleased I could have allowed for you to have such a special night."

Tenten: "Indeed." She tried to look serious, and failed utterly. "You should be pleased. I feel incredibly comfortable with you for some reason."

Deidara: "Odd," Deidara said as though he couldn't understand why. Successfully too. She was comfortable because he wanted her to feel comfortable. "Most people think I'm a little too... explosive?" he snickered softly.

Tenten: "Mmm, really?" Tenten smiled softly, allowing her gaze to travel over her company with a discerning eye. "Explosivity isn't always a bad thing, I mean, it sounds like it can be fun." Her voice cracked slightly on the last word, causing her to laugh openly.

Deidara: He laughed with her before shaking his head a little. "Think like your somewhat boyfriend, un. How would he think of me?" he threw his head back again and laughed as if he was reminded of an old joke. Obnoxious to the point he wanted to stab his eyes out and turn them into scrambled eggs with a side of fingers to go with it. He and Sasori knew each other for way too long.

Tenten: For a moment Tenten looked confused, until light seemed to dawn and she shook her head. "Do you mean Sasori? I have no idea what my status is with him. We dated twice, I've hung out with him a few times. Besides, I can't read his mind." She ran a hand through her hair, laughing softly. "My somewhat boyfriend...we've barely kissed. Silly!" She turned around again, continuing to dance as if nothing she said was important.

Deidara: Deidara's eyes lit up slightly. "You kissed?" he asked, leaning his chin over her shoulder so she could see the teaching in his face.

Tenten: Tenten blushed, bright enough for it to be visible. "Sort of. He was either nervous or only did it because he thought he had to." She wondered if she should be saying so much, but he was Sasori's friend.

Deidara: Here was the perfect chance to do evil things. Deidara could practically see the angel and demon on his shoulders bickering at his next line. He could flatter her, he could knock down Sasori's ego even though he wasn't there to actually feel it, he could brush it off. There were too many choices there, so he went with all three. "Possibly... or maybe it's cause he's never kissed a girl before, un. You thirsty? I'm craving some water," he said pointing with his thumb back at the bar.

Tenten: Shock was evident on Tenten's face as she listened to Deidara, blinking for a moment before answering him. "I...wha...uh drink, yeah, that sounds good." She was trying to understand everything. Why would Sasori have never kissed a girl before? She assumed, from how he acted, that he had more experience than she did. WAIT. Deidara had said specifically he's never kissed a girl before so maybe he was...and she was some weird safe experiment? This was all so confusing. "Water sounds better than possibly getting more alcohol...I think."

Deidara: "Ignore the other things I said," Deidara said suddenly, stopping in mid step causing her to bump into him. "I've had way too many shots to speak clearly." Which was a lie, but he knew he could do better himself, though he'd be able to work with this if it progressed.

Tenten: "Sure. Understandable. I hardly heard you anyway." She felt herself bump him and apologized profusely. "I think I've had too much as well. First day on the new feet and all." No, she had heard him quite clearly, and was having difficulty getting her thoughts out of her head. Obviously Sasori was not a safe subject, and she'd do well to remember that.

Deidara: Calling for glasses of ice water, Deidara sat at the bar and leaned back against the stool's backing, fiddling absentmindedly on his jacket's zipper then began sipping his drink.

Tenten: Taking a sip from her glass as well, Tenten took a seat and pulled out an ice cube. She barely realized how hot she was until she tasted the coolness of the water, and sucking on the ice cube seemed to help her feel better.

Deidara: "Hot?" he asked, grinning suddenly and tipping his glass over onto her head, letting the cold water slide down her neck and shoulders. He laughed playfully at her, sticking his tongue out in innocence.

Tenten: "Holy shi..!" Jumping up, she tilted her head back, gasping at the sensation of the sudden chill down her neck and back. Her eyes went wide for a moment as she felt her skin prickle with goosebumps, and she rubbed down her arms as she started to laugh at what he did. "Thanks."

Deidara: "Not a problem," he informed her and snatched her glass so she couldn't do the same to him.

Tenten: "Hey, no fair!" She tried to grab her glass, but failed, instead moving closer and shaking her head to spray him with water droplets.

Deidara: "What the hell girl!" he said, holding his arms up in defense against her spray. "Knock it off, un!" he laughed a little, pushing her back away from him.

Tenten: "It's called payback!" She grinned, pushing him back with a happy grin. "What, you can't handle a little water? Afraid you're gonna melt or something?" She wasn't usually this childish.

Deidara: "I frizz," he said girlishly, with a pout as he flicked a loose lock of hair behind his shoulder. Scoffing at the sound of his own voice he continued to drink her water.

Tenten: "Aww, poor you." She pouted for a moment as she watched him drink her water, leaning her hand on her elbow as she considered a question. "So...why bring up Sasori? Would you not have hung out with me if I didn't know him?"

Deidara: "If I said yes would that hurt your feelings?" he threw back, then grinned. "Nah, you offered. Sasori-danna and I might have been friends since kindergarten, but we can't stand each other's guts to the point we enjoy each other's company, un. Though neither of us show it."

Tenten: "My feelings are pretty hard to hurt. I just don't like feeling like I'm being played with." And she was feeling like that a lot, of late. "Ah, well that makes sense. Must be quite the interesting friendship, considering. I'm sure you two hang out occasionally?"

Deidara: "Hm.." he leaned back, staring at the ceiling in thought. "Last time we hung out... was Christmas when neither of us had or wanted a place to go. We sat in front of the tv playing competitive video games."

Tenten: "That sounds so much better than my Christmas, and less embarrassing." She laughed again, although something he said didn't seem right. Sasori would have spent Christmas with his family, right? How weird. "I'm sure your families must have loved you ditching spending Christmas with them."

Deidara: "Sasori's wasn't as appreciative as mine, un," Deidara said evenly, not blinking as he said it, but brushed the statement off with a laugh.

Tenten: "My mom would flip if I told her I was skipping the family dinner." Tenten had been watching Deidara carefully, and while she was still questioning things, she was mostly convinced by his act.

Deidara: He smiled at her, tilting his head to the side. The image of curious innocence. "Why are you looking at me like that, un?"

Tenten: She blinked, suddenly wondering if her doubt was showing through. "I'd have to know how I'm looking at you to answer that." She smiled.

Deidara: Deidara tugged his hip length blond hair out from under his jacket and held it up like her hair was done up and made a contemplating and studying looks. A distrusting one almost.

Tenten: Tenten blinked again, studying his face as she tried not to laugh. "I really hope my hair doesn't look that messy, but I get what you mean. I just find it tough to believe that neither of your mothers hunted you down."

Deidara: "My mom left me on the door step of a foster family when I was almost eight, un," Deidara said, expression not shifting as though he was telling something that wasn't significant.

Tenten: "I'm sorry. I had no idea..." Tenten found it hard not to feel sympathetic, considering that she actually had two parents, still married, and she knew not everyone could be so lucky. "That must have been rough."

Deidara: Letting his hair fall down his back loosely, he tilted his head to the side as though he didn't understand her sympathy. "They're happy. I don’t care, un," he shrugged and picked up the glass to finish the rest of the water.

Tenten: Having expected this kind of indifference, considering just how little she knew of him, Tenten nodded. At least Deidara had seemed to convince himself he was fine. "I'm sure that's the best way to look at it. I'm glad it doesn't bother you. It takes a lot of strength to not be bitter."

Deidara: He was quiet for a moment as he set his glass down then smirked back at her. "Least I don’t have parents banging my doors down to come to dinner, un," he said.

Tenten: Shaking her head slightly, she shrugged. "Yeah, I supposed that's a plus. Not only that, but no parents walking in on anything..." She looked out at the dance floor for a moment, smiling slightly. "Heavy topic done?"

Deidara: "Need a more... relaxing one?" he asked, stretching back against the bar counter, not bothering to put his hair back under his jacket.

Tenten: "Possibly...I mean this hardly seems the place to talk about our youth and other more private topics. Besides, we've only just started hanging out, lets save the drunken melodrama for our second playtime." She grinned, shrugging again.

Deidara: "Oh? There's another play date approaching?" he asked, with another grin. "Seems I've passed your test."

Tenten: "It all depends on whether or not I pass your test though. Just 'cause I'm having fun is no definite." She twirled her hair around her finger.

Deidara: "Do you think I'm having fun?" he asked, tilting his head to the side slightly again.

Tenten: "I have no idea, you're tough to read!" She laughed, resting her chin on her palm as she watched him.

Deidara: "Am I really?" he asked, sounding shocked as he placed a hand over his mouth. "Not even cover wise?"

Tenten: "Oh please! You're probably an acting student or something!" Tenten shook her head, leaning back in her chair. "You've probably been playing me this whole time."

Deidara: "Art actually, un," he said, asking for another glass of water to drink while they started getting chit chatty. "But I dropped out, un."

Tenten: "Why did you drop out?" Tenten indicated that she wanted another glass as well, since he had swiped hers. "I bet you were good at whatever art you do."

Deidara: "In Sado," he said after a sip. "I was just taking classes so I could hang around my friends from high school, un. Same here, but found I didn't have to. I'm not very good at school," he admitted with another shrug and grin.

Tenten: "I'm not either, though I'm just taking classes to get my electricians license because I'm good at that." She took a sip of her water, nodding. "It's good to have friends to help keep things interesting. I mean, I hardly know anyone here."

Deidara: "I know a few, un. Some from Sapporo and some I met in Sado," he said, "but I haven't seen any in a while. How come you haven't dragged your friends from where you're from?"

Tenten: Tenten brushed a brilliant red, glancing down at the bar with a slightly sheepish look. "I...never really had many friends. I was home schooled, and then I competed a lot...so I mostly spent time at the gym or working with my dad."

Deidara: "No one to work out with, un?" he asked curiously.

Tenten: "I had surpassed most of the other kids my age, so I was in an adult class." She sighed.

Deidara: "Make time," he suggested, shrugging. "All nine of the people I know real well went to school with me, un... and none of us are really... that good of friends on the outside."

Tenten: "I keep trying to see if anyone wants to hang out or spar or something, but not much ever comes of it." She drank more water, and shook her head. "I suppose it could be a lot worse."

Deidara: "Look for Kisame, un. He's always looking for a sparing partner or whatever," Deidara suggested, sucking on an ice cube.

Tenten: "Yeah, I was supposed to talk to him about his spare room, since I need to move out of my place, but so far no luck." Tenten smiled again.

Deidara: He made a noise of understanding and finished off his glass. "They're repeating," he said, commenting on the music though he wasn't apparent as he said it and headed for the door.

oobeastie: Tenten jumped up and followed, eager to get away from uncomfortable subjects. "It's all good. Who really pays attention to the music anyway?" The good thing was she was no longer light-headed.

Deidara: "You ain’t a little wobbly from so many tequila drinks?" he asked, smirking up at her.

Tenten: "Should I be? I mean, if so we can certainly fix that. I just didn't know me being tipsy made you have a better time." She smirked back.

Deidara: "Never said anything of the like," he said shaking his head. "Mearly surprised you're not passed out on the floor. It was your choice to drink them."

Tenten: "That's true, you didn't. I apologize." She laughed softly, wondering what had possessed her to try the drinks in the first place. "I have a high tolerance, and I'd never tried it before."

Deidara: He laughed at that, then glanced over at her as he slid his hands into his pockets. "So what would you like to do now?"

Tenten: Shrugging, she cracked her neck and smiled. "No idea, although I'm up for anything. What about you?" She was enjoying the company, more than she thought she would.

Deidara: "I picked first, it's your turn, un," Deidara said with a grin. "You pick I'll point out the best place."

Tenten: "Uh, I dunno...want to go get coffee or something?" Tenten felt lame for suggesting it, but figured it was worth a shot.

Deidara: Pointing with a purple coated finger, he grinned at her. "There's a nice cafe down the street with good coffee," he told her looking pleased with himself for getting so use to the surrounding area.

Tenten: Tenten smiled, looking over at him. "Sounds good. My treat if you want to lead the way." She wasn't all that familiar with the area, so she appreciated the idea.

Deidara: "Sounds like a plan to me," he said. He was always up for free things. Leading her to the cafe, he opened the door for her and went to the counter, ordering a drink for himself then glanced at Tenten for her order.

Tenten: Heading up to the counter, Tenten ordered herself an iced mocha, and smiled as she watched the girl making it. She paid, looking around. "It looks like there's a table free, unless you want to walk and talk."

Deidara: "Getting chilly outside, un, lets sit," he said, thanking the woman when his caramel high-rise came to the counter followed by her mocha.

Tenten: "Sounds like a plan." She was still heated from the club, but knew that the cold would filter in soon. "Now I kind of wish I brought a better jacket than my hoodie."

Deidara: He clicked his tongue at her teasingly. "Not used to the chilly city?" he asked, raising an eyebrow as he licked the whipped cream off the top of his coffee.

Tenten: She pulled the hoodie tighter around her and took a sip of her drink. "Not really. I'm so used to going outside after being in the heat or working out that it usually doesn't phase me."

Deidara: He shook his head again with the grin that seemed stuck on his face. "So how'd you meet Sasori-danna?"

Tenten: She laughed as she heard his question. "He had a little kid, a girl, who he needed help with, and I babysat her for a bit. Apparently he was happy?"

Deidara: "And you suddenly decided to go out?" he asked sipping his got drink.

Tenten: "He asked me if I wanted to go for dinner after it took him so long to give me payment for the babysitting." She took another sip, shivering.

Deidara: "Do you like him?" he asked. He was feigning his evaluations of her. He honestly didn't care one way or another, but she seemed to expect him to do some form of evaluating.

Tenten: "He's interesting, but I feel like I hardly know him. I'd like to though.." She blushed again, absentmindedly playing with her hair again. "I've never really dated, you know."

Deidara: Deidara let his head drop a little, giving her a disbelieving expression.

Tenten: She raised an eyebrow, rolling her eyes. "What? Did my lack of a social life escape your notice?"

Deidara: "I didn't think it was that bad," he informed her, snickering softly. His dating career wasn’t that much to brag about either, but this topic wasn't focused on himself.

Tenten: "Oh trust me. Sasori is just lucky I don't live with my parents, since he'd have to pass the 'dad test' and nobody has yet." Tenten laughed, thinking back. "I think he'd like Sasori though, if it ever came to that."

Deidara: "Anyone can like Sasori," if Sasori wanted them too, he told her, leaving that part out.

Tenten: "Oh, I'm sure. I'll bet he could charm a nun into bed..." She grinned, looking around. She wondered if Sasori really could do that...

Deidara: "...He's charmed you into bed?"

Tenten: She snorted inelegantly. "Not even close, thanks."

Deidara: "Then why choose that example?" he asked, leaning forward with a smirk.

Tenten: "It seemed apropos?" She shrugged. "I just get the impression that if he wanted to he could."

Deidara: "We developed that skill together, un," Deidara said, sitting back in his chair as he drank the coffee.

Tenten: "Did you both sit around and practice flirting and kissing with each other?" Tenten's eyes twinkled as she nearly laughed again.

Deidara: Snorting into his coffee, he threw his head back and laughed aloud. Oh the thought was revolting! But seeing the look Sasori would give if asked that would be completely priceless.

Tenten: She must have said something good, considering how he was laughing. "Careful now, the coffee isn't as good coming out your nose." She shook her head, wishing she could read minds.

Deidara: "S-Sasori," he stammered out in laughter, "and me can't really stand each other."

Tenten: "Yeah, you said that." She was still confused, but waited. Maybe he hadn't realized she was joking.

Deidara: Still laughing softly he sat back up and sipped his drink. "Sorry, un."

Tenten: His laughter was infectious, and she had started to laugh herself. "Glad I could make you laugh."

Deidara: "Laughter's the best way to stay healthy, un," he informed her.

Tenten: "I've heard that as well. It's also good for the ab muscles." She felt smart for knowing that.

Deidara: Grinning with a nod, he patted his stomach. "So is this your plan or you just wanted to skip to my turn?"

Tenten: She grinned back, nodding. "This was my plan, but I'm open to suggestions. I don't have to work tomorrow, so anything goes."

Deidara: "I have practice, un," he told her with a shrug. "Not too late now."

Tenten: "Whatever's clever. It's all up to you." She rubbed her forehead, stretching. "I could walk you home if you like. I need to look for a new place tomorrow anyway."

Deidara: "Sure, why not," he said, drinking back the rest of his coffee. "You wont really fine vacancy where I live though, un, sorry."

Tenten: Finishing up her drink, she brought the plastic cup to the trash. "I'm sure I'll find something somewhere though. I have faith."

Deidara: "You can always hang with Kisame, un," he said grinning. Getting up as well, he followed her to the door and opened it for her.

Tenten: "I'd love to, if the guy ever returns my calls." She headed out the door, nodding her thanks. "I've had fun, we should do this again sometime."

Deidara: He nodded his agreement with that and started walking down the street with her. "Just knock down his door, un. That'll get his attention."

Tenten: She smirked, wondering how he'd react to that. "I could go by there with some of my weapons collection and throw stuff until he opens up. Maybe that'll work?"

Deidara: He snickered. "Depends on his mood, un," he said. "He's pretty easy going till you piss him off."

Tenten: She smiled widely. "Excellent. So am I." And I'm damn good with my weapons... "I'm pretty sure I could convince him not to kill me."

Deidara: "Have fun," he said, snickering as he slipped his hands into his pockets. Nodding at the bar they'd met, he walked over towards it. "This is my place as well as my work, un," he explained.

Tenten: "I intend to." She looked up at the bar, not voicing the question on the tip of her tongue. "Must be a fun place to live. Thanks again, uh, feel free to call if you ever want to hang out again."

Deidara: "It's okay, un," he said, taking his phone out of pocket and opened it. "Number?"

Tenten: Tenten pulled out her wallet and got out one of her cards. "Here, this has my cell and my work number." She felt odd having business cards, but they came in handy.

Deidara: Taking it, he dialed the number into his phone and saved it. "Alright, un," he grinned up at her. "See you later, un."

Tenten: She smiled, amazed he actually seemed to save her number. "Thanks again, see you around!" Waving, she headed towards home.

Deidara: Nodding back at her, he turned and went into the bar, greeting his fellow employees and customers that recognized him. Instead of hanging out, he went back into the storage room that served as his room as well and climbed into his makeshift bed, examining the business card with a thoughtful grin.
