Characters: Wonderwice, Suzaku
Status: Log
Location: Outside, not too far from apartments
Date: March 3, Late Afternoon/Early Evening
Summary: They meet. Kind of talk, Suzaku creeps Wice out.
Warnings: Er...nothing really.
Outdoors was Wonderwice's favorite place. Now that he was done painting, and it was securely inside his house and he had cleaned up from painting, that meant he could go outside and enjoy it. He had climbed from his window (only two stories up, so not remotely dangerous for him), when he saw a bug of a sort pass by it. And now, he was hunting around for it. He was perched on the ground, staring around and watching. Occasionally moving to catch it. When his fingers finally gripped onto it, he gently held the bug before tearing off its wings and throwing it to the side. He saw something much more interesting -- a pigeon. And he was off after it.
Suzaku was miffed at having to go to a Business Meeting on Saturday of all days...but at least it was over and he could go home and eat some of the leftover chicken Sasori had left him. As he was walking across the grounds he paused....to a very strange sight indeed. The blonde...man was running about, trying to catch something...and then seemed to calm...and then chase a pigeon! How utterly bizarre....
Upon realizing that catching the pigeon was utterly impossible, Wonderwice poised himself in the grass, and started to mumble gibberish to himself (or maybe the grass?) as he pulled some out of the ground, annoyed that the pigeon wouldn't come sit with him or something. He stared down at it for a few moments, then up and looked around. Was someone watching him? He didn't really care, he kept mumbling to himself as he tore at the grass, before a pigeon landed near by (thought it couldn't have been the one he chased away) and he reached out and gently pat its head with two fingers.
Amazing how utterly...frightening this childman was. Suzaku moved closer, watching as he so gently stroked the pigeon, blonde brow arching. "You must be the newcomer to the apartments." he said, softly so as not to disturb them, cool lilac hues studying the blonde.
This man had an...overwhelming presence to him, though Wonderwice had yet to place how he felt about it. He simply nodded, his own bright violet eyes observing the person before him. He didn't know how comfortable he was attempting speech, so he simply said the words he knew best -- his own name, "Wonderwice Margera."
"Wonderwice Margera-san? A pleasure." he lifted his briefcase, balancing it carefully before extracting a single long, breathtakingly beautiful feather and offering it to him. "Nakashima Suzaku."
The feather -- so that was him? He nodded towards the man, standing up to take the feather, and bowing slightly in thanks. The initial feeling wasn't overwhelming, but it made Wonderwice uneasy. His violet eyes peered back up at Suzaku. He tried to think of a word, but stumbled over some gibberish for a moment. "Thank...you."
Suzaku trained himself, keeping his eyebrow from lifting to convey his surprise. So he talked much like he typed, hrm? Oh well....a smile touched his features, so soft, so serene...
"You're welcome! I hope you're enjoying yourself."
Wonderwice was iffy about talking to him now. It was so much easier over the journals where bad feelings that people frequently gave off weren't possible to tell for him. Luckily, most people blamed him being remotely jumpy around others on the fact that they considered him 'retarded', so he didn't feel like being nervous would have offended Suzaku (not that he cared if it did, anyway). "...Yah..." he said. "Quiet...usua...often."
"Well..." he smiled once more, displaying those teeth. "It's not wrong to be quiet if that's what your comfortable with!" he assured him, maintaining what he hoped was a rather calm expression.
Wonderwice nodded. He let his fingers move over the feather, testing it on them. It was soft to him. "...Talk..." he wanted to make sure the man knew that he wasn't comfortable with quiet because it was quiet, but because it was easier. "Talk...hard." That smile was strange.
"Understandable...well I won't ask you to talk excessively if you don't want to." he added, seeming so sincere...so kindly. And really...he could play that part -quite- well...
It was different from talking to Yachiru or Kakashi, who made pleasant conversation with him, and had this nice air that was floating around them. Or maybe he just wasn't very good at trusting someone with a bad smile. "...Kay..." at least he appreciated the not being forced to talk. It was harder when he was wary.
"Am I bothering you at all...?" he wanted to know, seeming lightly embarrassed. This kid was smart...smarter than Kakashi, that was obvious in how wary he was.
Wonderwice shook his head. "Nervous...when...talk." He said. He really shouldn't make someone who gave him a bad feeling upset, he knew better than to do that of all things.
"You don't have to be nervous around me...if that's what you mean. I like to talk....but if you're uncomfortable I wouldn't make you or anything..." a hand slid through those rubyblonde tresses, watching Wonderwice thoughtfully.
"No...you," Wonderwice assured. "Nervous..." he said carefully. It took a lot of thought for him to come up with those words. At least it wasn't a total lie, that would have made it a lot harder. But when people broke into that comfort zone, depending on their persona and how genuine they felt to him -- it was easier to get comfortable. "...Can talk."
"So you like birds....?" he said instead, swinging the topic around easily enough. "Do you have any pets...or just make friends with them?" he gestured to the pigeon.
Wonderwice nodded. He very much liked birds, he tried to at least mentally tell himself to relax because this man could be no good. "...Just...friend." He smiled a little half-heartedly. "No pets."
"Murugu is my friend..." he murmured, his tone...soft for a split moment. Murugu...ahh now he truly did care for her...
Muguru. His parrot, he nodded. It was a good way to think of it, at least. He relaxed a bit. "Muguru..." he said, "pretty." Very much so to him. He liked the color, though.
"Yes...she's very pretty." he added, smile softening a little, genuine for a split second, though...most would never catch that his smile was normally false. "A best friend."
That genuineness had only made the fake smile he had seem...more like a fake. Verification for Wonderwice. It was harder for him to relax now, though. He shifted. "...I...want one," he announced. And that was true. But he'd have to wait till he was back home again for his parents to even think of allowing it.
He could sense the discomfort, much lie a wolf with a rather disgruntled, wary deer pretending it didn't know the wolf wasn't a dear. Wonderwice wasn't stupid...journal entries proved that easily enough....but just...how canny was he?
Wonderwice looked at him and then in a nervous habit, lifted his thumb to his teeth, chewing on it for a few moments and watching Suzaku. Not good, was his final judgment at least for now, until something proved that otherwise. Wice didn't like being prey. Not in the slightest. It was a difficult situation for him to get out of, and he knew it, if he should happen to fall into it.
He could sense almost...that the other was growing more nervous and merely smiled again. So sweet, so polite...so warm it made Kakashi's eyes go soft now and then.
"Well, I'll leave you be then...." he murmured warmly.
For Wonderwice it further verified the fake, each and every time. "...Kay..." he said, relieved. Trying not to sound it, but it was hard for him to hide it in his voice.
Grinning now he bowed his head and turned, sauntering away, that friendly expression melting once more to his rather...normal expression. One only Sasori, Sasuke, and Kurama had thus far really seen...
