Personality:
Sarah is yet another example of how unfair fate is. Being born with innate magic and a rune left her isolated and hated as a witch from the very beginning, regardless of how young she is, and to no fault of her own. That coupled with her imprisonment at Harmonia’s Circle Palace has left her a very wary and introverted child. Her trust in others is something carefully held back until she is certain of someone and she is likely to keep her thoughts to herself instead of blurting them out like other children around her age might, unless provoked to it. Sarah’s avoidance of others leaves her seeming timid, which is, to some extent, true enough. Despite this avoidance, her string of bad experiences has managed to leave her with some empathy for others who suffer. She would never wish the hate and pain she’s already gone through on anyone else, a trait that does, years down the line, come out when her future self tries to minimize the damage done by the Destroyers, even if she would not be always successful in it.
What she lacks in social skills, she happily makes up in intelligence. Taking after Luc in becoming an apprentice, she is studious and hard-working, which all accumulates later on in her canon when she appears as a very powerful sorceress. Expanding her knowledge of magic isn’t her only incentive to be hard-working, though. If she was not, she might be sent away; while likely not true, this is a constant worry that weighs on the little girl. She would much rather bury herself in books and chores than go back out into a far more dangerous world alone, not to mention that books have been far better to her than most people so far. Taking to study has had other positive outcomes, too, leaving her with the patience to stop and think things through (well, unless they happen to be Master Luc’s ideas) and she is undaunted by having to learn new things.
Of course, she is very mature for her age, but it shouldn’t be forgotten that she still is a child. Sarah’s calmer demeanor can be ruffled the very second someone does the following: insult Master Luc. That’s... basically it, though one day that may expand to others, should she have better luck with making friends in a completely different world. Either by insult or some other way to get her to dislike you, really dislike you, she will act very dismissive or even bratty towards the person in question. In that vein, this is a good time to bring up Master Luc. He is the one who saved her from a life under Holy Harmonia’s control, which makes him the key and most important relationship she will ever have in her life. She is immensely loyal to him, to the point of hero worship; considering he is her hero, that isn’t a huge surprise. Even at this age, she is resolved to return the favor and protect him in like, a resolution she holds on to literally ‘till the very end of her life. Even though it is very focused, it does show she’s loyal and prone to being protective towards those she cares for or, at the very least, feels she owes.
To sum it up, Sarah is a quiet, rather studious little girl, very mature for her age and capable of great loyalty.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Sarah is very mature for her age due to the hardship she’s already had to endure so early in life and capable of handling strange situations just fine without someone holding her hand.
+ Things that might scare other children are unlikely to frighten her as much. She’s already used to the world being scary.
+ She is very studious and quick to learn.
+ Sarah knows how to cook (nothing fancy, though).
+ She is also used to having chores back at the palace, so hard work hardly bothers her.
- Nightmares. They aren’t as bad as they used to be, but she still has them about her time in Harmonia.
- Fear of abandonment. Sarah was afraid of being sent away from the palace for the silliest reasons (like breaking candlesticks), but it is a legitimate fear. She doesn’t want to be all alone again. Though never directly mentioned, it is also likely she fears imprisonment due to her past issues with it.
- Younger Sarah is a clumsy kid, a problem that directly leads to her silly worries over how breaking things will get her sent away.
- She is on the small side of things and physically weak.

Excuse me?
[Here’s Sarah, looking uncertainly into her pokégear’s camera. This is still a little new to her, but she’s managed to master broadcast to the network by now. Still, the idea of who knows how many people being able to see her...
Nevermind. She wouldn’t worry about that.]
I need to know the fastest way to Violet City. Isn’t there a way around the cave? Or is the map right after all? [It feels like a dumb question once she’s asked it and she frowns for second.] ...um... [But she forges on regardless.] If anyone could tell me, it would be very nice to know. There’s someone important I must catch up to.
Even if I do have to go through a cave...

It was still following her.
Sarah was surprised the stumpy little creature could manage to keep up with her as well as it did, though maybe she shouldn’t be so surprised by anything she would find here. It was already obvious this wasn’t her own world, be it a dream or some other strange explanation. At least it did prove what everyone had been telling her, that the Snorunt was, in fact, hers, or that it thought that. No other animal would follow a stranger this far out of town on a whim.
That meant she had a pet now. She would have to take care of it. Sarah finally stopped and looked back over her shoulder at the Pokémon. It had been trailing her all the way from New Bark, but keeping a distance. It stopped the very second she did that and stared back with its beady blue eyes.
“Don’t stop there. If you plan on following me everywhere, you should at least come up here and walk with me. Otherwise you’re just being weird...”
Which would get on her nerves eventually. It might attract attention if it looked like the Snorunt was stalking her rather than walking with her like a partner. She looked forward again, feigning interest in what was even more grass and impassable ledges ahead of her, and waited. It didn’t take long. She could hear it scuttle closer. When Sarah looked back again, she had to look down, because the Snorunt was standing by her now. They regarded one another curiously for another moment or two.
Sarah gave it a small smile.
“That’s better. I wonder if I have to give you a name. People name their dogs.” Even if this was far, far from being a dog as it could be. She started walking again. The Snorunt moved to keep up. “You look like you’re hiding under a cloak... so...”
From there, the two continued the trip to the next town side by side.
