Progress and Hope

In the continuuing saga of bringing an end to this 21 year old war in Africa Invisible Children has put together a nice short video of the Displace Me event TC and I attended.

Throughout my life I have always been involved in some form of activism. One thing you learn quickly is how your ideas and work is more often then not discarded in favor of compromise. Invisible Children has impressed me since I first learned about them over a year ago as they have creatively brought forth ideas to help solve a problem, a major problem. It has been a very successful campaign on numerous fronts. They have brought attention to the people of Uganda and the problems that exist in Uganda and Sudan. They have brought real solutions and hope for the displaced people living in Uganda. They have played a vital role in forcing our own government to take action.

I have given a lot of my blood and sweat for the cause of humanity without thought of reward. There rarely is immediate reward in such work. The Displace Me event and working with Invisible Children is a rare exception and a welcome recharge for us weary humanitarian folks.

If you have not already, visit Invisible Children and listen to their message. Then share. That simple action will do more than you can imagine!
