I'm a multi-faceted individual in a lot of regards. I have a lot of interests, hobbies, I like tons of music, and I am bit of a crowd chameleon. Usually I pride myself on being extremely well rounded, I know a lot about everything and everything about nothing. I can hold a conversation with any one, but I can't get really indepth- get to jargon and I am finished. Unless it is MMO's, web design or field hockey.
Lately though, those three passions have been dwindling. I blame college. Re-formats. Money. Health issues.
Instead I should just embrace them, but in a lot of ways I can't. If I start gaming too much my grades drop. I can't play field hockey because of my knees and feet. There's always web design, but school work just absorbs my soul. You would think the web development work I need to do I would embrace and make the projects amazing, but no- I'm a procrastinator. I wait to the last minute and throw together some lame graphics and mark-up in about an hour. (Shameless plug of ego, my projects still usually look better and are far more functional then anyone else in my minor.)
Then there's writing.
I am soooo out of practice. Then again my "practice" would be post-by-post story weaving RPG's, but I have yet to come across a new, mature, and talented community since Legends of Mystique. I also used to blog consistently, but- that went down the tube. I try though. I really do. Again, I blame school work.
Add reading to the list of dwindling past times.
I love fantasy short stories and horror novels. Except there is only so much time in the day to sleep, eat, do school work, write, game, read, work-out, surf the net, and just live... sometimes I feel like I am just making dumb choices about what to do with my free time. Instead of blogging- I'll chat. Instead of doing graphics- I play EQII. Instead of reading my favorite books- I am watching youtube.
I need to get focused.
So, I was thinking about picking up the trend of video blogs. Even better though- start writing short stories again or a book, then post the chapters on my website, then blog about what's coming next or what I'd like to accomplish and stir up some buzz and reader response. Or have brainstorming sessions out loud and on my cam that people can say what they liked or disliked from my ideas. This would incorporate most of my hobbies. Writing, blogging, reading(It's my own story though.), web design, and communicating with others.
Okay. End my brain vomit.
