A classmate, bless her, whose comp introduction the prof actually liked, emailed it to me so I could see what the hell he's looking for, as it's apparently not what I had done. The intro is two sentences about the comp, then an introduction of the evidence.
Which is how I was able to write 4 comps and revise the previously rejected one in the last two days. They are uploaded. I hope he passes me on at least one of them. I have for my conclusions, as he also rebuked me for having vague aspirations instead of concrete actions, said I will take about $3000 in ALA ecourses and keep reading BookList, which I haven't picked up since I evaluated it my first semester (because I AM A CATALOGER DAMNIT STOP ASKING ME TO DO THIS OTHER SHIT).
The only thing I said I would do that I would even consider actually doing in real life is download Duolingo and put some non-English languages back in my brain. I said I would learn languages commonly used in my city, but this is also bullshit. I am going to brush up on French and do some work in German so I can deal with all those science journal cataloging records. Maybe also Dutch, because at the moment it appears the Low Countries are the only ones not turning into fascist trash fires, and I need a plan if Scottish independence fails again.
I might write one more comp tomorrow afternoon after my interview (which is at 11 in Irvine) if I have enough brain. The reading window closes at 5 instead of 11:59 (damn him), so I may not be able to recover that fast. Depends on how horrific the drive is.
