Hm. I hadn't thought of that. Over on DW, suggested that Ronald and George are so specifically British they don't sound alien to our ears, whereas Biblical names like Ezra are timeless and kind of non-culture-specific. I think there's something to that too, given how many names the writers pull from Sanskrit (Padme is from Padma) and the like, although Agatha and Gilgamesh would get headtilts as well.
Niq also says weirding the spelling helps make it more alien, like Rahn instead of Ron, which would make sense. (Rahn, Harie, and Hermaihonee under the cloaking device...)

But really I think they are Star Wars names because they were in Star Wars.....
But I do think short matters.
