I walked out to go to the recycling place day before yesterday and one of my tires was pancake flat. After a phone call to my dad determined that I shouldn't drive on it at all not even to go just across the street to the tire place, I called AAA to send someone to try reinflating the tire so I could drive 300 feet safely. He was kind of skeevy, but the tire held air well enough for me to get from one parking lot to the other.

It was a cut, not a puncture, so they had to replace the tire. :p They also told me I should replace the other back tire, but didn't say why. Age, I guess? Anyway, I told them no because I needed the space on my credit card to get the rental car to drive to Phoenix. I haven't gotten a lot of hours at work this month.

Then Dad texted me later that night and said he would pay for both tires, and direct deposited that plus my Christmas money. w00t! So now I have stopped freaking out about whether I can pick up the rental car on time and still be able to pay for gas and food along the way.

The vet quoted me a somewhat outrageous sum for 6 days boarding because both Ty and Kiri are overdue for rabies and distemper boosters, and apparently now there's a pre-vaccination exam attached to getting shots (this is new since last year). So if they have anything needing treatment...OMG I can't. Kiri has a tendency to cough when she first wakes up from a nap, but that's been going on for so long I'm pretty sure it's allergies. Ty is just old.

And it's Solstice, so here's hoping the turn toward the light is figurative as well as literal.
