I have mixed feelings about Jorie Graham's poetry, but this I like. :)

There are Graham poems that I like and Graham poems that I hate. I generally go for her earlier work.

some critic called her work "oatmeal poetry" or something like that. but i do like some of her work. :)

my friend was psyduck during one her org's activities for their hell week. i made the costume. and i wanted to be psyduck during my high school prom, but they didn't allow me.

i'm still bitter.

Critic William Logan is nastier: "Reading Jorie Graham’s poems in Never is like watching a slow-motion nature documentary where an anaconda ever so lazily disarticulates its jaw and inch by inch, millimeter by millimeter, swallows a goat. Such microscopic infatuation with detail is entrancing, the world slowed to the creeping choreography of muscle; but it can be blindingly tedious." (Of course, I personally found it very funny, hehe.)

Why didn't they let you come in Psyduck costume?

i had to read that twice for me to get the picture.

hmmm... i had a friend who wanted that book so badly and when she finally read it, she decided it was just too much for her.

but heck, graham did win the pulitzer so i guess that puts her above us mere mortals. :)

we were supposed to wear formal stuff. and i looked ugly in my gown. ugh. high school was meant to suck anyway.

but i still love psyduck. :)
