I've got booze money for tonight!
I've had some wants to post on here, but not much opportunity nor effort to. Now I've got some free time at work, so I'm good to type. Let's see, week's been going good so far, finished I think my last assembly program, that went well. There were kinda stuff I wanted to talk about, but nothing that pops up into mind. Except for a couple of things.
Did a bunch of work for the newspaper this week, I think I did really well. I was impressed with this baseball schedule image I did, it was simplistic yet quite beautiful I think. And I worked on the back page, which is printed in color. The story was about the basketball band, and the image I made to cover the entire article was really nice.
Ooh, ooh, and then today I went and helped out my dad with the graphic that they're going to use for the McAllen Library logo. It's a simple image of the McCallen logo with three slanting columns, "McAllen Public Library" centered on that, and below are two kinda '{' things only rotated onto their backs so they look like a book. The image was first off off center with the entire image background. I had earlier faded out the top part of the '{' so that it was only perhaps half of the dark blue that the bottom book thingie was, and then we tried moving the text around so it was more aesthetic and then tried centering the slanting columns more to keep balance. My dad and some co-workers were behind me giving commentary as to what looks better, so together we came out with an image that looked better.
Whee, I feel good about my artistic skills in Photoshop! Now I just need to learn to draw.
Sharra's coming down on the 26th, she's got her ticket. I hope I'll be able to afford a hotel.. I've got enough for at least a few days, just need to find a cheap yet not horrid hotel to stay at. We might go camping too to cut down on expenses, but yeah. Too bad Jerrod won't be here, he'll be leaving around mid December. Oh well. Hopefully I'll start getting paid next semester at the newspaper so I'll be getting more money!
Oh yes, lol. Typing that title reminded me of what I'm going to be doing tonight. There's a Christmas party for the newspaper crew tonight, and I'll be heading out. Most are over 21 I think, or at least some are, and no one's going to care if you're too young to drink, but yeah, it should be fun. Need to call up Jerrod to see if he's going to want to go, and need to see if Da's going to get off his ass and stop playing WoW.. Also if he's called his mom yet..
