Over the Rhine is my favorite band. Has been since not long after I was introduced to them in 1999. They are reputed to put on an amazing live performance. I have never seen them live. Since I have been away from Ohio and Michigan that has really grated on me. Especially after they put on a show less than 10 miles from my house in a tiny little town which I had never heard of hosting a concert (and which, on a cool fall evening would have been the perfect setting for them.) You may remember me trying to prod someone into going to that show so that I could live vicariously through them. They have a long-standing tradition of holiday performances and here is this year's schedule:

Thu Nov 30: Columbus OH, Little Brothers, ages 18+
Fri Dec 01: Bloomington IN, Buskirk/Chumley Theater, all ages
Sat Dec 02: Chicago IL, Double Door, ages 21+
Mon Dec 04: Holland MI, Hope College (Knickerbocker Theater), all ages
Tue Dec 05: Kent OH, The Kent Stage, all ages
Thu Dec 07: New York NY, Joe's Pub, all ages
Fri Dec 08: Philadelphia PA, Theatre of Living Arts, all ages
Sat Dec 09: Annapolis MD, Ram's Head, ages 21+
Sun Dec 10: Washington DC, Jammin Java, all ages
Thu Dec 14: Nashville TN, 3rd & Lindsley, all ages
Fri Dec 15: Lexington KY, The Dame, ages 21+
Sat Dec 16: Cincinnati OH, Taft Theatre, all ages Special Guest: Mary Gauthier
Sun Dec 17: Cincinnati OH, Fan Club acoustic show, all ages
Fri Jan 27: Ann Arbor MI, Ann Arbor Folk Festival, all ages

Half a dozen of these would be accessible if I were home. Little Brothers is in the Short North, where my brother and a number of our mutual friends hang out on a regular basis. Three days later they are at the Knick. I worked there damn it! I want to go... =(
