Engagements
Yesterday Ross and I were walking back to his car and we saw the most romantic moment, a man on one knee proposing to his girlfriend. We caught it just as he went on to his knee and as we were about 100 metres away and were certain we were not disturbing them, we watched as he got out the ring from his back pocket and put it on her finger. Neither Ross nor I knew these two people, but for that instant I felt connected to them in a way that is hard to explain. It was just overwhelmingly beautiful and, as sappy as it sounds, Ross and I were almost in tears as we walked on. Imagining how that newly engaged lady must have felt the moment her boyfriend got onto his knee, seeing her clasp her hands together in delight and his attempt at being cool, calm and collected when you can see underneath that facade is a very very nervous man...it was so raw, so....real.
