i read, "the lovely bones." okay, i didn't read it. i listened to the audio book. sue me. i have zero time to read and since i'm a truck driver, the logical step is to dump an audio book on my ipod and listen to it.
it was an amazing story that spanned over nine hours in length, with just utterly rich characters and intricate plot twists, weaved together with love and and sadness that had me crying here and there throughout... my only complaint was the ending. i didn't feel the villain of the story got the proper comeuppance he deserved. it was almost an ironic, anecdote to the punchline kinda punishment.
peter jackson's film version, was a condensed two hours version of the book that was good, though not what i built into my brain, and yet, it still maintained a version of the shitty ending that the book had.
while trying to be creative, and force myself to draw one comic a day, regardless of how satisfied i may be with the end result, i came up with a way i would have ended the story in both mediums. though i wasn't as graphic as i wanted to be, but i blame that on sheer laziness. i get so far into drawing something, and i get bored to the point i just want it to be over and hurry up to a sloppy end... kinda like how i have sex.
regardless of my failed strip and attempt at pleasing a woman, here is said strip. on the by, i do highly recommend reading or listening to the book. it really is fantastically well written, but do this before you view the film. i can't stress that enough. the film is half of what the book is, and the book succeed's more because of the many intricate plot lines.
