i've been getting lost in videogames again.
seems every few months, i lose interest in gaming, mostly due to lack of money to buy new ones, and then, when i do get a new one, i lose my shit getting lost in it...
i bought, "silent hill: homecoming," and, "fallout 3," for the 360, respectively used off amazon.
i have yet to receive, "fallout 3," which i'm really looking forward to, but i am obsessed with, "silent hill: homecoming."
it's not the best of the series, and at first glance, i was kind bummed with it beginning in a mental hospital, because... that's how they all seem to start, but once i played through that portion, the game actually opened up as the first silent hill game i've played, and i own them all mind you, including the psp origins, that actually had a story that didn't seem stuffy and withdrawn, but really dramatic, with a character worth investing in.
the graphics aren't as impressive as i would have hoped, especially in cut scenes, but the gameplay and combat is greatly improved upon from previous series titles. being able to dodge and roll out of the way of enemy damage is something i've long desired in a silent hill game, not to mention being able to lock onto an enemy to do battle.
i'm three chapters in, about four hours worth i play, and i was just bear witness to the one and only, pyramid head, which makes me feel good that konami left this silent hill title, for the first time ever, in an american gaming developer's hands...
and to think, i have a three day weekend coming up... but... in a sobering moment like this, i still miss getting laid...
