Alright... since Bethany says I never update this thing (which I don't) I suppose I will. She says it'll just let her and all of my friends who actually read this thing know I'm still alive and all. Yeah. Anyway. I'm sitting in Cleveland right now waiting for Tara to get down here from Sandusky so that she can pick me up... and then we can drive back up to Sandusky and then back to Michigan. Don't ask me to explain the whole logic in her not just bringing her sister with us... it's beyond me.
Moving on. This weekend has been fun. I wish my girlfriend could have been around with me more often but I want to spend time with my parents and I understand her mom wanting to spend time with her. So it's all good. I get to see her everyday and her mom really hasn't seen her much in the last couple of months so it's cool.
However... I despise Cedar Point, hate the rides and really just dislike Sandusky in general. It bores me and I'm only there when I have to be so I'm thankful that I have the ability to let Tara go up to Sandusky and spend time up there without me having to be someplace I really do disdain.
Last weekend (the one before 4th of July weekend) Tara and I went to Michigans Adventure. Cute little park... we rode all of the rides and were done by like 5 oclock. Got there and like noon so that tells you how busy they were and how many rides they have. Shivering Timbers, the ride I really wanted to ride, wasn't nearly as good as I was expecting it to be. It bored me to be frank about it and I actually thought the Wolverine whatever ride there was a whole lot better. All in all the park is a nice little day trip but if you're looking to ride rides there's plenty of bigger parks with more to do within 6 or 7 hours driving distance. I'd easily pick Kings Island over Geauga Lake, Michigans Adventure and even Cedar Point. Although that may change now that Paramount sold the parks and KI and KD and all of the other formerly paramount parks are now in possession of crappy Cedar Fair.
Work is terrible. I hate it but I can't quit because I have to have the money to pay bills and such. And it's not like I can just find another job to replace TruGreen as the job market in Michigan, especially the Tri-Cities area is flat out horrific. You can find a job if you want one, but you definately have to hunt and you have to be willing to do hard labor or fast food. Either way they're not the most appealing jobs in the world. So there isn't any point in me leaving one crappy job for another. Besides... benefits should kick in for me at TruGreen pretty soon which will be nice.
Other than that it was good seeing all of my friends and getting to spend time with my family this weekend. In the past three days I've been to the Akron Zoo, to the movies to see Superman Returns (it's a renter... don't waste your eight bucks) and to a Lake County Captains baseball came. It's been fun and again, coming home has made me not want to go back up to the crappy broken off piece of canada. But what can ya do? I love my girlfriend and I refuse to go anywhere without her so it seems i'll be in Michigan for at least another year.
That about wraps it up... hope this was good enough.
