I had to watch maternity videos today. There were three tapes which were about 20 minutes long, and one of them was about the phases of labor.
My gawd. It was all gravy until the very end when the mothers actually gave birth. That was one of the most disturbing images I've ever seen.
I feel I've seen a birth before, either on TLC or a movie, but I guess I hadn't. In one of the mothers the vagina was so DILATED (well they were all dilated like that) and at first you see this bright white pasty looking thing that's sorta visible.
Then they switched to a shot of another mother. She was looking down and pushing with all her might, and the crown of the baby's head coming through. MY GAWD. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hahahahahahahaha...
And at one point she reaches down, and she's like, "Oh, it's soft and fuzzy!"
It was just weird for me. It really looked like an alien was coming through someone's body. Just didn't seem natural.
They went back to the first mother, the one with the white pasty baby. I realized that white paste was... well, I don't know what it was... amniotic fluid? Or the amniotic sac? And the baby's head was right underneathe that but also covered in that white pasty junkst. It looked Nasty. And THAT birth really looked like the mother was giving birth to an alien.
And holy shit, I didn't know you had to deliver the placenta after the baby. This huge mother fuckin' sac filled with blood comes out. That's the last stage. "The Delivery of the Placenta." Hahaha.
I want a baby!!! Maybe without the birth part. I want the prebirth part, with them kicking me and stuff while they're in my stomach, and the cuddling and stuff afterward, just not the out of body experience of seeing a head come out of my gine.
Hahahaha, a couple of other girls were in the puter lab with me watching the two other videos, hahaha, and they were distracted by mine and we were all like little boys freaking out. Hahahaha...
