Saturday was Drum Day 2003. I felt the need to go just because Andy is one of my best friends and I'd like to believe that getting out of the house every now and then other than to drive over to someone else's place is generally a good thing. Kate was already there when I arrived, obviously being a good girlfriend to her man, so I spent most of the time I was there with her and walking around and talking to different drummers until Ryan, Judita, and Tony showed up.

The event was pretty interesting, to say the least. But when isn't a day with a bunch of drummers competing for different charities anything less than interesting?

I could go into a lot of unnecessary details about how I went to Ryan's place after Drum Day was over and spent my evening with him and then went back home. I think I've done a pretty good job of talking about him within my past three updates, so I'm afraid that I will refrain from doing so.

We start playing shows again within the next week or two. I can't explain just how fucking glad I am to go off on tour again with the repetition of staying up all day and all night without any sleep, being in a different city, state, or country every night, and abusing my body with hard liquor and four times the cigarettes I smoke in just one day. It's wonderful, really. I don't think I could ask for anything better to do with my life other than touring, though it might not be the best kind of shit to make your body go through.

Our shows throughout most of November will be in Europe. I find playing in places like London and Berlin to be fucking fantastic compared to playing different cities in the United States, considering the great fanbase we have accumulated in each place within the past few years. The alcohol and the food happen to be really fucking great, too, but the fans seem to be the best thing about Europe. Judita's coming with us until there are any changes in her touring schedule. That should be a fucking blast.
