Hello people who may or may not be reading this!
I'm back from my epic journey around the U.K.. I was late coming back because a volcano erupted in iceland! It has an impossible name, but I'm sure you've heard about it by now. Taking an 8 hour ferry might have been a bit of a blessing in disguise because after we went to Bath, we went to Liverpool and i got boots and getting all these gifts and stuff into 2 bags for the plane ride would've been miserable!
p.s. Cosmopolitans are tasty.
After Liverpool, we hopped a ferry over to Dublin (for the lols). That was an overnight one that included food, unlike the one back where there were, like, 450 more people then there usually are (there's usually about 20 people on these ferries, but everyone was stranded after the volcano). Sleeping on a boat is weird. It shakes. Ya don't notice when you're moving, but the second you lie down you're wobbling.
But Dublin was cool. Had my first savoury crepe, which seem to be the same as what the English call Pancakes. They're all wrong! But the crepes in Dublin were better than the ones at MHC. We took a bus tour and I'm totally blanking on what else we did, but one evening we went out to a movie (since we had already been to a movie and two musicals during our travels). It was the 'I am love' movie with Ice Queen lady from Narnia. The description seemed alright, but I think everyone in that theater was dreadfully uncomfortable and confused by the end of it. Just uhg. Don't see it! It's not worth it in any way! It just- no. Just trust me, there are better movies.
Oh! We went to Giant's causeway! and a suspension bridge of doom that wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it was going to be, and a quick stop at the old whiskey distillery (which is on their money). I got some awesome pictures at Giant's Causeway, but unfortunately Jackie stopped filming a second before I totally slipped so you don't get to see me wipe out at Giant's Causeway. Sry.
And the day we left Dublin, I got this Irish heritage cartoon movie that I can't wait to share with you guys! It's really cool and filled with celtic stuff. We also stopped in at this Italian place and there was this old guy singing who was awesome (I filmed him. Don't worry).
After Dublin was Belfast where Jackie schools. Her school has a C.S. Lewis reading room that has the wardrobe door! It's the background for my phone now! It makes me so happy! Got another piercing. I show that to you when it heals up more. We went to an awesome pasta place where I inhaled the food. It was so good and exactly what I wanted. Aw, pasta and seafood soaked in oil... There's also a conveyer belt sushi place that was made of awesomeness. We went there twice, actually. It makes you sad where they're missing the sushi you really want, but there's usually a few things to eat. Cuddlefish sushi is not as good as salmon sushi, and california rolls are good, but they're better with shrimp on them.
Jackie's friend was gonna come up, but there was a volcano. I thought it'd be all blown out by the time I had to leave, but apparently not, so then I caught the ferry 2 days later, got back and then spent a few more days trying to finish a paper. Cry. But that's all done so now I get to put together a plan for the Greek/Roman Pantheon lesson I'm conducting for Pagan talk tonight. I'm so terrified (especially since I'm sure a few of them know all this stuff to a T already)
More on my life here later. I'll be putting together an awesome video of awesomeness soon so I can show it to all y'alls upon my return. Much love!
