I've been here 6 weeks! It's been half a term already! I've only got a term and a half to go. I don't know if I'm excited about this or not.
And it's been decided that when I grow up and retire, my farm's going to be in Virginia. Apparently there's some marvelous country out there.
I fell victim to the Cartmel epidemic and am still recovering from it (and by fell victim, I mean I got the sniffles and was tired for a day or so because my immune system is unbeatable!) so I haven't done anything crazy. I've been a little crazy with following up with the clubs that are either late night (or weird times) or require money so I haven't been back to fencing, anime, or gaming.... or the writer's guild because I have nothing I want to share, and there's a tricking club of some sort that I haven't gone to and I heard there's break-dancing somewhere so I have to look into that too, ya know, after I find the theater club!
Happy Chinese New Year, by the way. It's the year of the Tiger!
And Happy Valentine's Day! I went to get cookies, but I got Jaffa Cakes instead because I was told I had to try them and I very much dislike them so now I don't have proper chocolate to satisfy my chocolate withdrawal.
Lent's coming up too! I'm going to try to have 'not being late' my lent resolution. I'm afraid that even Lent won't get me to be on time to these classes on the other side of campus, but one can dream. I'm in the south/east corner of the map and my classes and all the stuff I want to do is the North/west corner, over in Bowland or County or the Chaplaincy. Curse you inconveniently placed interests!
I need to look into the Bath/Stone Henge trip asap. It's in 2 weeks and when I saw it advertised, I wasn't even considering travelling, but now I should look into it! I wonder if those things fill up...
I made another random nerdy how-to video. >>>>>>
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAMUHyPmw_Q<<<<<< I'm gonna run out of things I can actually do here really really really fast, especially because I can't find nerds who I can pick the brains of. There were only, like 12 people at the anime thing: me, one other girl, and, like, 10 really nerdy looking guys... It was an uhg scenario all over. MHC's Bellatrix is so much better! I miss the love and the talent!
I'm also still drawing. I got bored with the picture I was working on last time and started doodling on it-
So then I started drawing random comics to make fun of the book series. I've got three of them now and I've got... at least 9 more before I'll be satisfied. They're significantly less funny if one doesn't know the series, but I'll share those with you too if you want to see them.
I'm still trying to read. I have to return these books by the 19th...
And I'm writing. I have to write something for my Creative Writing workshop so I'm going write that short-story/introduction/1st chapter of that Peter Pan story I wanted to write. If you haven't read the book, at the end of the story, Peter returns to the nursery to get Wendy, but she's all grown up and has a daughter so Peter asks if he can borrow the daughter for sprint cleaning (she she spends a week cleaning for him and darning his socks). Peter mostly doesn't remember her at all and seems to return once every 5th blue moon, so I thought 'since Peter never grows up, he'll more of less keep stopping by the nursery window far into the future, so what if the girl he ran into was one who doesn't want to clean his house for him 'cause she's a modern, empowered woman?' I thought it'd be amusing to have a young girl start arguing with Peter Pan for his sexist views of women's roles. But that's just me because Peter Pan is awesome.
So I'm going to go write that and do reading homework and such, refigure out how to knit, etc.
Oh! And for those of you who were wondering how my date went: it went fine. We saw Daybreakers because we missed Sherlock Holmes. It's a vampire flick that was more violent than I was use to so yuck. I'm not so much interested in vampires as I am interested in the way that they're portrayed. He tried to ask me out again on Saturday, but the disease struck so I got out of it. I'll see him at club. I like casual settings. I think me being casual is too flirty because I may have given him the wrong impression. I don't have people to flop over here! I miss physical contact. Cry.
p.s. kopparberg is a very tasty cider.
Love you guys! I hope you'll all get your letter I sent you!
