I seem to have acquired a student.
I went to the Huntsville Area Old Ways Association meeting on the 30th, (we meet over dinner on the 2nd and 5th Wednesday of each month, and occasionally for coffee and conversation on Sunday mornings,) and I gave a little talk on the theoretical aspects of religious and magical ritual. And yes, you did make the offer. But it's not like I was really going to say "No, I want out," after all of the years of work and effort that culminated in that particular point in time and space. It's just that there are some times when the weight of duty seems heavier than it ought. Even if it's not actually as heavy as the figurative mountain in the famous aphorism.
On the other hand, I do recognize that the Gods often have to make do with the tools they have to hand, and that around these parts, the selection is pretty damned scant. There isn't much in the way of active, working covens or groups to refer people to within any reasonable distance, and aside from myself, only two other persons who admit to being able and willing to lead ritual for the community. And of those two others, only one is willing to teach. So it's not like She had a lot of arrows in Her quiver, is it?

And somewhere around here I have photos of Bear, and Fox, and Ash, and Lark, sitting at Bear's usual spot in front of the Pontalba Buildings, one memorable afternoon in late 2001. And a while back, I converted Peters two cassettes of his long interview with Bear to a digital format. Presuming you have high-speed at your end, they could be e-mailed as attachments, once I get the computer they are stored on back up. Or if I find the backup CD's. Let me know if you would like them.
