Movie Genres
How come there's not more crossover between fantasy and horror? Fantasy and sci-fi are practically siblings, and sci-fi grew up next door to horror.
I like horror. I suppose slasher flicks have their place, but I'd really rather see a mystery/thriller about a werewolf or a ghost or something. I want to see horror that is really dark fantasy.
And how come there's no fantasy thrillers? I mean, yeah, there was the "Dungeons and Dragons" movie, but it failed miserably and people got scared off. Narnia and Neverending Story were done as kids movies, but making these films for an older audience opens up a whole new world. You know what looks good? Golden Compass. I haven't read the books yet, but I'm tracking those down in a hurry. I'm seeing the film soon, so...here's hoping.
