You know, you'd think being the son of a Senator would get me out of this kind of thing.  Shouldn't I be getting automatically accepted as a legacy at some college or another?  It's not like I actually have some grand plan for college anyway.  I'll just go there and kill a couple years while I figured out what exactly it is I'm doing with my life

Yeah - I think it's genetics. Something about not retreading the same old path that our ancestors did, or something.

Or it might be because the old man's a dick, and if I ever did anything he did, I'd have to slap myself.

Maybe being a dick is a pre-req for having kids or something. I wonder if there's a test for that?
