I'm gong to be at Jewish Family Services, in a case manager role, working with Russian Seniors.

It's really awesome. The clients are mostly refugees from the USSR in a Naturally Occuring Retirement Community. Basically a few decades ago there was a long movement of Russian Jews coming to Rochester to escape the USSR. One of the landlords of an apartment complex offered to rent to the refugees "No background checks, no co-signers, just pay the rent and be safe here." After they raised their families and their kids and grandkids moved out of the neighborhood, many stayed for the community. (Hence, "naturally occuring" retirement community.)

Many of the seniors have a fair to poor grasp of English and may need help understanding their bills or forms to sign up for aid, so I'd be helping them with that.

I'm really excited. I can't wait until August.

Work is alright, still coping and trudging along until July, when I'll have Lithuania and I can leave with my tuition reimbursement.

Mike and I are okay. He still wants to get a house after this lease. I'm supportive of that. I just don't know if I want to live with him after this lease or have my own space for a little bit.

Kitties are doing well. With my next pay check I think I'll buy them some more toys and take them to the vet for a heartworm vaccine and to get their weights. I think Alex is overweight. When I tried putting the food up and way from the cats (or so I thought) Ben would only nibble for a minute and then walk away, getting less food, where Alex would chow down... and eventually learned that I was putting the food on top of the fridge. I caught him snacking up there a few times. Now they both idly pick at the food, and I switched them from their fatty kitten food to a leaner cat food so hopefully with some new toys and more love and attention, they'll get exercise.

School is okay, I think I'm in the A- to B+ range for my elective. I'm going to try and squeeze in another elective over the summer. Hopefully by the end of this summer I'll complete my elective requirements for the gerontology certificate. Then all I'll have to worry about from here on out is my required courses.
