So, I get sick over the weekend, almost completely lose my voice, suck it up and drink lots of honey tea on Wednesday and go to an audition, just because I don't want to be a coward. I know it doesn't matter, since I have run crew in the spring and won't/can't-without-bending-rules get cast in anything anyway, so I just kinda go for it and use it to practice audition material. My voice decides to work pretty well (amazingly well considering what it sounded like that morning), and I have lots of fun mamboing around during Life with Harold. Easily my most fun audition ever, since I really didn't care how well it turned out and grooved. Lo and behold, I actually got my first musical theatre callback of the year from it. She Loves Me, another Bock musical like Fiddler except a whole lot less ethnic. And Katie got one too! True, it's my second musical audition of the year, so it's not like I've been striking out sixteen times so far. But still, I am a freshman, and so it is rare-ish.
Now, I doubt I've actually learned anything from this, except that you should like your audition material and you can still belt with a cough. But I needed to update and thought it might as well have some happy news in it.

EDIT: As I was about to post this, I got a cheerful e-mail from the Office of Student Affairs announcing that the Frostbite Express would be running today. For those not familiar with the wonderful world of Northwestern bus routes, the Frostbite Express only is supposed to run when the temperature is below ZERO. I guess this means it's supposed to get hella-lot colder today than I thought it was. o_o
