CCM!
WOW long time, no update!
So I just finished my first day as a freshman at CCM! Today was crazy! I went running just so i could wake up in the morning and get myself going...then i showered and went to the practice rooms to warm up a little. Then we had a meeting with Aubrey (chairman of MT) and a few of the other head teachers in the MT dept. Basically went over what the upcoming week will be like. then we had to get ready for DIAGNOSTICS!!! (sorry if my grammer is a little bad..im slightly tipsy..).
SO, first we had a jazz dance diagnostic, which was fun. we warmed up, did across the floor, etc. then did a cute combo. that was all fine...then we had Tap, which was fun. the teacher, Patti James is HILARIOUS. Shes also fucking incredible, too. we tapped a little and she basically put us into groups that she thought we should be in..(beginner 1, beginner 2, intermediate, and advanced). Then we did stuff with our little groups and that was about it...FUN!
then we had like 10 MINUTES to change into our nice clothes (everyone wears NICE clothes for everything...like shirt and tie is the minimum, lol).
Ok so then were all ready and all sitting in the room and pretty much the entire Musical Theatre faculty comes in and sits down and gets ready to watch us do our song and monologue. and we had to do them in front of our entire class which was exciting- getting to hear everyone for the first time...
so Bubba (Aubrey..bubba is his nickname, lol) walks around with a hat with numbers in it and we all had to pick a number. i got like 16 so i thought i was like pretty much last. Then Bubba was like "Number 9 please!) so were like AHHH! and he randomly picked numbers the entire time so we had no idea when we were going to go.
I ended up going like 10th-ishhhh. I sang All I Need is the Girl and did Jedediah from Laramie for my monologue. I was really happy with how I did. I felt like i was in good voice and stuff so it went well!! YAY
Now, I have to say...every single person in my class was so fucking fierce. Person after person i was like WTF why r these people so good. Yes, everyone has they strengths and weaknesses. And it was so cool to see how different everyone was from each other. Everyone was so amazed with everyone. ok im rambling and not making any sense cause im retarded. SO ANYWAY were all relieved that Diagnostics are over, but it was positive experience.
So it was like 5pm and stupid me (and a lot of us) hadnt eaten ANYTHING! So we all went and shoved our face with food! yAy. then we went back to the dorms. Then Kyle called and i went out with he and lynette and julie (sophs.) to go buy some more things for their apt. which is GORGEOUS, my god. Then we headed there to watch the OC haha. Thennnn me, kyle, julie, and andrew (who is another fresh like me!) went out to Newport to go eat with was fun.
THEN (omg so many thens) we went to go get ready to go to this party that the drama majors were throwing for the Musical theatres people. All the upperclassmen came which was fun to see/meet more people. lots of drunk people, lots of fun.
which brings me to now, back in my room...which is small, but cute! i have like a little oklahoma shrine lol. My bed is lofted really high so my desk and stuff is under it, etc.
Tomorrow we have a meeting at 10. then at 1 we have to complete our class registration... then at around 4 we have our Vocal Choral Auditions..we have to sing an art song or aria so thats gonna lots of fun..hm, not. lol. Then theres a big picnic with the faculty and upperclassmen MT's so that should be fun..
well i should go to bed so i can sing my pretty aria tomorrow...ugh lol.
so far, I'M LOVING IT! its gonna get hard and stressful, but im ready..:)
