In case you're not familiar with that expression, that's the sticking out of the tongue noise so aptly displayed in Calvin and Hobbes whenever the said action takes place :-) I'm trying to update b/c i'm too sick to do anything else really... the thought of going to theatre practice tonight makes my hair stick out. I feel like crap but it's more that I know for a fact that all the dust and dirt will only aggravate my already sickly self and throat, thus leaving me in a constant state of misery as it has since strike on sunday!
The shows went really well!! no terrible catastrophes as far as dancing is concerned. Except for Lindsey, my favorite "ballet mistress" getting sick and dehydrated and taken to the hospital. She was ok by the end of it all but the sad part is once we found out she was ok we were all like" darn it! I better get a copy of HER dancing the red dress piece and not Guthberg!! She was not our favorite in it as you can see. She quite frankly just was not Lindsey and that's all that can be said, the balletic and grace aspects were not up to par!! :-) I kind of wish more people were able to come to this performance, especially now that it's over. It wound up being a pretty great show in the end!! The ballet being the favorite of course. My mom said she wished she could have seen it more than once! It was her favorite dance concert yet, which is nice to hear.
So i have two weeks, essentially, of loading Dearly Departed and then I don't have to do the run of the show so I'll have about a week off before Laramie begins i'm assuming. PS i'm so psyched for THAT now b.c we got our parts and i'm doing duhduhduhDUHduhDUUUUN> Romaine Patterson, among others. That's the big one i'm so excited for though!! all the characters I'm doing are diverse though dan will not let me live down the fact that not ONE but DOS of them are lesbians. Go figure lol.
So the biggest issue i'm having w/ this sickness is this FSA bull crap that has been driving me up the wall. Long story short, I can't get the meal plan I want/ need to b/c i'm not labeled senior status, even though if i were living in a particular dorm that SOPHOMOres are, it would be fine. This results in less food and more money for me and a totally rediculous system, considering that i'm required to be on campus this year b/c of my scholarship. Not to mention i don't have any money to lose right now. Not even close. I wrote Dr. Herman about it though so I'm praying it will all work out and I won't get screwed out of money as is the usual result of living on campus!! FSA is full of garbage!!! grrr
So I'm missing my family and Chris alot right now and I think it's the silly child like mentality that comes with being pretty sick. The desire to be taken care of when you spend so much time taking care of all your own obligations all day, can wear heavy on you at night time!! Especially not seing my mom for more than 12 minutes b/c of strike on Sunday, I hadn't seen her since Assassins and, again for 12 minutes so that leads back to CHristmas day as the last time I've seen my little brothers or my mom ( in any kind of meaningful setup). That sucks sometimes...it really does...
I've been living in sweat pants since the performance week and up until today being sick. lol. I never though the girl who got up and blow dried/straightened her butt length hair for 45 minutes every day freshman year would say that but it's true lol. I'll be glad to get back to feeling normal and like a human being by donning( :gasp:) jeans even!!!
So going right along with the theme of stream of concious that I've established in this entry, I think I may have funked up my knee. lIke for real, since AFrican dancing, my legs have been all kinds of a mess, but because i'm dancing every day now I've just come to realize that it's a reoccuring thing and not just a pesky little whim. I supposed i should go see the sports trainer here, while it's ready and available to me!!
Speaking of trainers, I talked to Janice and Sherri about becoming a personal trainer and I was so psyched to get some real inside information from them!! Janice definitely advises taking Nutrition, Anatomy and Kinesthesiology(sp?) while it's available to me here, b/c not all traning programs entail those courses to the full extent that they're neccessary. I'm going to look into the California equivalent of the NY Sports center program with their advice and I'm really excited with what that might bring!!
So on that note i'm going to go cook some easy mac( the first solid food of the day!!) before taking off to cough away at theatre practice. lol i'm really not a drama queen and it's really rather funny to recognize the humor in the situation!!! Adios amigos!! ~nora
