Remembering the YEO-Zone

On a whim I signed onto my old Oberlin facebook account. And I read through my profile (which was last updated in like December), and I saw the following (down at the bottom of this post) and I just had to post it. I really miss my Obies. Reading this brought back memories of:
olivia, emily, maggie, jack, ilene, mathilda, rachel j, clare, rafael, colin, elliot(!), david bernstien (hahaha), chris cashman (hahahahaha), carly m, brad w, jacob kidder (omg i miss him so much, im not even kidding), whit, jesse g, katie d-t, lizzie, emma, caleb, paul moser, JEFF PENCE (the hottest english prof in the world), crazy poetry prof that thought he was w.b. yeats (what was his name?? from freshman year....?), kyle sherman, SNAKE!, slaine, liz shurgin (i know she didnt go to oberlin, but since i found her again through jack), jean h, curt, melissa, SOCIALIST JON (oh i wonder where he is now....aahh! i miss socialist jon...). ok enough.

"HAHAHA OH Pirate!" AND "Quick starring contest, you and me go.......................OH you win, you always do!"
-Robert Goulet

Reviews of Robert Goulet in La Cage:
"At times he has trouble remembering his lines, but his fans will probably forgive him a few stumbles..."
"At 71, and working with just one of his original hips, Mr. Goulet is, admittedly, not particularly agile...And he rarely strays too far from a solid piece of furniture."
AND THE BEST:
"Pass the Vicodin. Judging by the difficulty Robert Goulet shows in clambering up and down stairs or hauling himself in and out of chairs in La Cage aux Folles, the show's painkiller bill soon will be right up there with its depilatory wax tab..."

"Bunnies, bunnies, it must be BUNNIES!"

Tribute to the Obie days:
robert goulet is my idol. The Pirate and I have begun to mark our territory all over the country (and actually abroad as well). what can't we face when we're together? it's all about defying gravity. runaways, pippin (what?), west side story, sfanw. is there a Chipotle close to oberlin? yes, it's an hour and a half away. Keep dance parties are the only way to go. best chocolate chip cookies and Coke are from subway (but cookies on call was pretty fing sweet). spike + pacey = amazing. jasmine + belle1 + belle2 = amazing. 30/90, skid row, hello baltimore, going through the motions (YES), heaven help me, louder than words, midnight radio = most amazing mix ever.

xoxo
