(no subject)
So I haven't really made a legit post lately. This weekend was parents' weekend and I had a really nice time with my friends and their families, but it really made me miss MY parents, so that was kind of bittersweet. Monday was the anniversary of my grandmother's death, so that was kind of bugging me too. I'm fine. I mean, she hadn't been herself for many months before that, but it was just kind of in the back of my head for most of the day.
Anyway, today was a lot better. Didn't get called on in sightsinging. That was good. Had coffee with Maria who is one of my new favorite people. I don't know how we weren't friends with her last year, but she's a sweetie and a half and that was really cool. We're tap buddies, but since she's a voice major, we see each other other places too and this has kind of started being an every week thing (by which, I mean, it happened last week, too.) Then, I had a really productive lesson. It wasn't one of those "Oh my gosh I made a ton of progress today" or even an "Oh my gosh, I sound SO good today" but I left feeling tired and lightheaded and satisfied because I know that those feelings were because I had been working really hard, so that was good.
In music history today, we listened to the last movement of Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique which is one of my favorite pieces ever. Sooo good. They did it at the WS symphony last night and my mom went and slept. I was like "Wow. We're in a fight."
I guess that's about it. I'm starting to get kind of excited about my birthday. I got two more packages from my parents today (one of them was a poster, so it came separately--I didn't open it, it was in a tube and I asked for a few posters, so, I used my genius to figure that out hehe) and that was exciting. I've been so good. I have had a bag of presents from them (it only has 2 in it--I'm really not that spoiled) in my closet since they were here more than 3 weeks ago and another one came last week from Audrey and it went up there, unopened, as did both of the boxes that came today. I am so proud of myself.
Ok, time for dinner and practicing and work and Jeopardy! I hope tonight will be good...
