wastin away again in margaritaville

wow, i just got home from st. thomas, and i don't even know how to begin to describe how awesome it was. i wish i was back there right now, with a lot of my good friends. that would have been the only thing that could have made that trip better. i could just imagine being down there with kevin, sara, michelle, priya, maggie, other sara, and a lot of other people (if i didnt mention you, dont read too much into it, im tired). that would have been amazing.

on monday, our first full day there, we went scuba diving. we dove in a coral reef and a sunken ship in a cove off of some island. we got down about 40 feet to the bottom, and when i was down there i picked up some seashells. paulette asked me to bring her seashells and i did. anyway, the shipwreck was really cool and the fish down there were really awesome looking. after that, we got to just lay out on the boat for about 2 hours, so i jumped back in and did some free diving, it was really fun. that night, we drank margaritas.

on tuesday, we spent the whole day just relaxing at the resort. we went swimming in the caribbean and in the different pools, we layed out in the sun, i listened to my music, and then i went and spent some time in the sauna and the steam room. it was probably the most realxing and peaceful day of the whole trip, but it wasnt the best. even though we went into town that niht and ate some authentic caribbean seafood, it was really good. that afternoon, we drank some more margaritas.

wednesday, which was the best day, we rented jet skis. we went about 15 miles to the west point of st. thomas and then came back. im guessing that we were averaging about 70 miles an hour, and when youre going that fast on the open water, it gets to you. we saw about 8 cruise ships pretty close up, and i saw a dolphin swimming near me. the best part of thast ride was when i hit a wave and both me and the jet ski got completely airborne. it was such an adrenaline rush, i would do anything to do it again.

wednesday night, we went to paradise point at the top of the island where we could se the enitire bay and all the islands that surrounded it. this night will eventualy become the one memory that i associate with this vacation. watching the sunset over the bay, drinking a bailey's bushwacker (now, thats a god drink) and eating a cheeseburger in paradise (forgive the pun) all while listening to live steel drums and guitar and piano. it was, in one word, unforgettable.

we left this afternoon, but not before we brougth home a couple of bottles of coconut rum thats realy good. you have to believe me when i say that i couldnt go 5 feet in that island without seeing an add for cruzan rum. so, naturally, we had to buy a few bottles. even tohugh im talking about all this alcohol, i am proud to say i never got drunk, and i've never been drunk. i drank what i did only because it tasted good and the moment called for it. i never drink normally so this was all celebration for me. and if i felt even the slightest of headaches or anything, i stopped. im a responsible kid.

after the long flight home (on which i finished reading life of pi, what a great book) i had one final meal with my dad before saying goodbye and coming home. after i got home, i sat on the couch and relaxed after an amazing vacation, and who better to relax with than kevin. we just sat there playing video games for 2 hours or so, then after he went home, i came up here and started to update my livejournal. to sum it all up: im tan, im tired, im home. i hope you all had as great of a spring break as i did.
