~ Work has been SOOO slow, so I went to a few auditions. No luck, of course...
~ Did some background for CSI: NY which was long, but fun.
~ Ended up wrapping presents for OSG. They were $600 IPod speakers they were giving out to everyone in the company for the holidays. They stuck me with some other temp guy who was also an "actor". Actually, he went to clown school. He was a real simple fellow who liked to take naps while I worked. Very interesting.
~ Went to go see Sir Ian McKellen in King Lear with Trisha and Megan. Well, we didn't exactly have tickets... but we arrived at intermission and snuck in. We ended up watching the second half of the show from the usher's seats up in the balconey (apparently they had seen the show one too many times). It was amazing. I cried when Sir Ian carried Cornelia's dead body onto the stage. The best/worst part is, as he wept for Cordelia, I wept because I wasn't playing Cordelia... lol.
After our life altering experience, we went to go meet Sir Ian to have another life altering experience. He came out and he had a full white beard. He looked like Gandalf all the way. He was really out of it, and understandably so, but he was very nice and gracious to us.
I love that man.
~ Went home for Columbus Day weekend. I arrived Friday night and went to bed at a reasonable hour. On Saturday, Emma and I were supposed to go to King Richard's Faire, but she was sick and backed out. Luckily, brother Greggie said that he wanted to go! We left early in the morning so we could get to the opening ceremony, which was awesome! We saw the cat show and met the biggest cat in the world! Seriously - he's a liger and he's in the guiness book of world records. Insane. Greggie also taught me how to shoot a bow and arrow. We tried knife throwing, too, but neither of us were very good at it. It was an awesome day though.
After King Richard's Faire, we went to go visit Pepere in the hospital. It was really sad. I cried at one point. He's really not doing very well at all. And what's worse is that everyone is kind of making him feel guilty for not wanting to continue fighting. He's too weak for Kemo now, so it's really just a matter of time. They're probably going to have to put him under hospice care very soon. Ugh...
Anyways that was no fun.
On Sunday, we had a sort of family reunion at my house for my dad's side. It was supposed to be a chance for Pepere to see everyone, but no one predicted that his health was going to decrease so rapidly and that he wouldn't be able to leave the hospital. But, we still had a good time.
I drove home that night because my mom was driving me nuts.
~ Ended up doing a few more auditions. I learned that I am too short to play Belle.
~ Wrapped more presents - this time for the Women on Wall St. Conference. I later attended this conference, which ended up being a good time because I met a couple of girls who were quite entertaining. One was a fellow thespian and the other reminded me of Jaslene from America's Next Top Model. Fantastic! The goodie bags were a disappointment, though.
~ Went to Halloween Adventure to go costume shopping with Trisha and a guy named Aries asked for my number.
~ Saw The Mark of Zorro, the play that Trisha was in at BTAP. It was... interesting. Went to the cast party, too.
~ "Morning in May" went smoothly. It was a lot of fun and was really nice because it was short. Getting out of there nice and early was a pretty sweet deal. I even got to go out for drinks with Jim and Susan on Thursday, which was great because I haven't seen Susan in AGES.
Anyways, the show went well. The audiences were great and had a great time watching our play, which apparently is pretty funny. And they always went "ooooooo... " when it was revealed that I was the killer. Dun dun dunnnnnnnnn!!!
~ I am now 10 pounds lighter. 11 more to go!
~ I'm SO pissed that Dumbledore has been labeled "gay" by J.K. Rowling. I always thought of him as a demi-god - completely beyond physical needs. I mean, it's one thing to have suggestive things going on, but to announce it like that? That's one thing authors don't do for a reason. It completely takes away from his character. Makes him mortal. Pisses me off. AND I will never view those intimate moments he had with Harry the same way ever again. UGH.
~ I'm planning on watching AMC for the next two weeks. Monsterfest is something I look forward to every year. Do not disturb unless it has something to do with Halloween or scariness.
~ Anyone want to go to a haunted house??!
