Count down to 21!!

Jul 10, 2007 23:30

Today was the countdown till I turned 21. The first thing on my agenda was to get my hair cut by the Married Man. Form told me he wanted to come with me, but I thought he was joking. I guess he wasn’t. There I sat, as the Married Man chopped. As he chopped, Form texted away. Hopped up on Vicodin, Form walked through the heat of downtown trying to find Red: The Solon. When he finally arrived, the Married Man was nearly done cutting my hair. He had me book my next appointment, and Form booked his. After that, Form and I went and got ice cream. Once the ice cream was finished, I dropped Form back off, and headed to the Secretary of State to get my license renewed. 45 minuets, and one semi decent picture later, I found myself driving home, even though I told Form I would head over. I got home and collected the parts to my Super Nintendo that I was going to bring to Form. I soon got the call Form saying that everything for tomorrow wasn’t working out and that he just was not going, and he was once again pissed off at R. I couldn’t help but wonder, what happened in the last hour that got to him. He couldn’t even tell me, all I knew is that he was pissed. I drove down R’s street and suddenly saw her driveway. R had been calling me non stop, and I was talking to Boater, so I ignored it. In her driveway stood a ticked off Form, and in the street was Mother R’s gold van. Whoever was in the van was talking to Form. I dared not move any closer, for I thought I would get blown to pieces. I stayed back. As the van drove off, I followed it instead of running to Form. I followed the van for as long as I could until I lost it on Southfield. I called R. I found out, the person in the van was actually Mother R and that R and Robbi were at 14 and Cambell. I raced over to where they were. I guess Robbi was having trouble accessing his credit card money for some reason. R told me that we were going to take the Mustang to Chicago, and somehow we would fit. I also found out, Form was just upset over things once again, and we were going to let him chill. After about 15 minuets, we decided to drive both vehicles back to R’s. Once back, Form was feeling sick, and he and Robbi decided to leave. I laid down on the couch, while R tried to find people to go with us out for a drink at midnight. Sadly, no one was around, except Kyle R. While R worked on her lab for class, I sat and talked to various people online. At about 10:30, Mother R gave me a drink and a kiss. Now why couldn’t my mother do this? At midnight, we got our shit together, and drove to Duggans Irish Pub for a drink. They kicked out Kyle R because he was not 21. He told me to “drive R to Royal oak”. I called him an asshole for telling me to drink and drive on my bday. I was pissed. After a shot, I drove a short distance home, and then to Meijer to buy camera’s and blank disks. Robbi called, and told me how Patrick had shown up at his place, and they had “the talk”. Patrick didn’t take it well, and infact sat outside in his car flashing the lights on and off and then yelling into the phone. Robbi called me in panic and I knew I had to get there as fast as I could. By the time I got there, Patrick had left and Robbi was beside himself about the situation. He felt like he had just broken up with a boyfriend, when really they were never anything. I tried my best to calm him down and we had a long talk about our skeletons and the former gay world we use to know back 4 years ago. I began to think. I knew Patrick was only 18, but still, for 18, I thought his feelings for Robbi were a tad out of control for just hanging out twice.
When you stay single in Michigan long enough, you are suppose to get wiser about dating. What men to pick, where to meet them, But what really made any of us experts? Was it our single status and our big neon sign that we couldn’t get it right? What if all these years in Michigan have only made us older, more confused, or dead? Are we getting wiser, or just older?

At 3:00 AM, I finally headed home because Prof. Form was meeting me at my house. When I pulled up, he had just pulled up in my driveway. We went inside, and one year later, I finally did his wash. Between the two of us, we decided that we could not all fit in the Mustang, and further more, we wanted more time in Chicago. We decided to take two cars, and also, to stay two nights in Chicago. Now This was going to be some adventure!
