Oh, look, I remembered I have an LJ. And while I'm in class, too. Mainly because it's big decision list time and I want this written out somewhere that's not a word document.
Okay. Graduate from college this year and attempt to get into grad school, or take another year of college at a slower pace and get a minor in education. Since I'm leaning towards taking another year, gonna do the pros and cons of that.
Pros:
- More classes means I can boost my GPA, so I can get into better grad schools.
- Taking classes three at a time means I can shoot for A's in all of them.
- Another year gives me more time to make friends with professors, so I can have better letters of recommendation.
- Taking 12 credits a term = much less stressful than taking 21 credits.
- Getting a minor in education will probably look good after grad school when I go for the teaching route.
- Another year of college life taking three classes a term means more time for RP and writing and general fun.
- May mean another year in the great apartment I've got now.
- I'll get to spend another year with the friends I've got here who are also staying another year.
Cons:
- It'll probably disappoint my parents.
- It'll possibly disappoint my grandfather, especially since he's been so nice and helped me out with money this year.
- I'll have to take out another loan to pay for the extra year, which means more debt for me.
- I'll probably have to get an actualy job, not just the normal summer job thing.
- I may lose awesome roomie of awesome, if she decides not to stay here another year.
- If that happens, I'll have to move out of the apartment I've got now.
- I may also have to move out of the apartment complex I'm in, since I dunno if I can afford their one bedrooms.
- And we'll also have to figure out what to do with the puppy for the year, since I'm not sure I can afford him by myself.
So. I dunno. It's looking like the pros outweigh the cons, although the living situation is a huge con right now. I wish my roomie'd make up her mind so I'll know where that sits, because I really don't want to have to move to a different place if I stay here.
Meh. Well, at least I have my lists.
