Happy New Year....???
Well, had this journal for awhile, and decided (largely out of boredom) to actually start using it. We'll see if it sticks.
Well, 2005 is over. Thankfully. Been a long, wild, but, in the greater scheme of things, relatively uneventful year. Still working at the bank. Not what I want to be doing, but am working on that. Give it time....and effort. Have watched many of my friends enter coupledom, some permanently, while my status remains, sadly, single. Granted, do I want to stay with someone who decides to break things off the same day I put one of my pets down? Not really. And the other shortlived men in my life over the past few months....glad, in the end, they're not around. But these setbacks do take their toll, and am afraid I have become even more cynical and bitter than I was. Is this possible? Seems so....scary. But, I do have some absolutely wonderful friends in my life, and for that I'm most grateful. And hey, I can entertain those said-coupled friends with my tales of horror from singledom. {: ) I can only hope that 2006 holds better things in store, in all aspects of life.
Wishing you all the best, but especially want to send my love to Callie, who is heading to Egypt in a couple of days!!! Being the wise, amazing woman that you are, I know that you will get so much out of this experience, and I can't wait to hear all about it! Maybe I'll have to take an excursion to Cairo sometime in the coming months, since I wasn't able to make it to KC.
