aaaand it's coming to BBC America 10/3, which will hopefully mean that the episodes that I can't find will start making their way online. It stars Jamie Bamber (Apollo from BSG) and I had absolutely no idea that he's British! His American accent in BSG is spot-on. It's kind of depressing though, seeing London and hearing the accents and the slang. It makes me feel what I can only describe as homesickness. That's odd, because I don't feel that for Rochester. I still have many places that I want to go, but one day I will end up back in London. Blah emo blah. Anyway, since I stayed up late marathoning Law and Order, I slept through most of the Pirate Festival (
http://www.portlandpiratefestival.com/) so there was no point in going. Yes the links are necessary, because next year when Maria is here we're going to do all of these things together and I can come back and look at my LJ to see what was going on. It would have been cool since I went to the NorCal one last year, but oh well. I hope they ended up breaking the Guinness record for most pirates in one place, because that was the goal.
So I am always working on expanding my rather large wardrobe (much to Maria's dismay, as my clothes take up a lot of space hehe) and since I'm in a city that's really big on vintage stuff, I thought maybe I could look for and acquire some vintage pieces. Particularly 60's Mod style (there goes that England obsession again). I was pretty inspired by the Twiggy exhibit and my visit to Brighton. I wish I had the build to pull off a men's mod suit, but unfortunately curves don't work with the look. None of my rockabilly pieces are actually vintage, so if I have a lucky find I will be all over that. Also, getting together a good steampunk outfit is a wardrobe-must as well. I wish there was more than 1 Topshop in the US.
School needs to hurry up and start. One more week! I should pop by the bookstore one of these days and see what it is that I need to purchase, so I can check the prices online :)
