Stir-crazy....
Thanks to everyone for your responses to my Hawaii idea. I've been thinking about it some more lately. My aunt tries to visit the islands once a year, and her husband used to live there for 20 years. They had nothing but great things to say. My dad said Hawaii (the big island) is so-so, but that Maui and Oahu are great. Whenever my aunts visit they stay at a friend's house on the island, and apparently he has a separate empty guest house above the garage. Even though he could make a killing renting it out, he keeps it vacant (for security reasons). If I decide to move in the next couple years maybe I could rent that room until I get myself settled... But I suppose first thing's first: must finish school, then actually VISIT Hawaii to make sure I like it, find a job and then fly off to my new homeland.
On another note, what do we think about Vegas? The opportunity might be presenting itself rather soon, and I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. What intimidates me most is finding work out there. I would want something stable and preferrably not topless (and I don't mean stripping). I stopped through Vegas on my way to San Francisco last week and even though I didn't step foot outside the airport, I felt strangely comfortable there looking out across the Strip (the Vegas airport is literally RIGHT NEXT TO the Strip). I was so excited just looking at the ADVERTISEMENTS for Vegas- Cirque du Soleil, the Bellagio, MGM Grand (my dream venue, where I hope to perform someday)... So what do we think about Vegas?
